Celebration / Competition 2017-18

ORANGE COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

The children of the Pre-primary section of  S. B. Patil Public School celebrated “Orange colour Day” on 28th February 2018 with a sole objective to acquaint the little ones with the concept of this secondary colour and objects related to it. The children were exposed to a series of creative activities to help them understand the positive impact of orange.

The teachers and children both in harmonious shades of orange enjoyed creating the hues.

The children enjoyed a lot and it was indeed a pleasure to witness little ones dressed up in orange bubbling with energy and fascination.

OUR SMALL WONDER CHAMP LEADS OUR SCHOOL TO THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

We Pimpri Chinchwad Education trust S.B.Patil Public School feel elated with loads of pride this academic year. The reason is also a very special one. It is our small wonder of Class II C, Master Avanish Bhoir who has fetched tonnes of accolades for the School. He had participated at the National Level Speed Skating Championships, held at Belgaum city of Karnataka state. Avanish not only won the contest, but his name has been registered in the prestigious Guinness Book of Records – as the youngest participant in the championship. Master Avanish Bhoir was felicitated in the School Assembly. Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola expressed a great amount of satisfaction over the gigantic fame earned by our little wonder for the School. Hats off to our little master!!

Report on Debate Competition Conducted for Our Students

Our School had organized a Debate Competition for its Students of Std VI – VIII on Tuesday, 20th of February 2018. Prior to this, there was a Semi – Final Round conducted for all four Houses; Blue, Green, Red & Yellow. Students had well prepared for the respective topics given to them viz.

 

TOPICS FOR SEMI –FINAL ROUND:

  1. Impact of Advertisements.
  2. Use of gadgets by the younger generation.

Competing at the semi final round, Blue & Red Houses qualified for the Final Round. The topic given to them for debating was-General Influence Of The Mass Media.

Students were very enthused about the Competition arranged for them. They expressed their ideas very confidently & also the one who were participating for the first time developed good stage confidence. The judges of the Event were Mrs. Nirupama Kale & Mrs. Anjali Gugale. The Winner at the competition was Red House & Blue House stood at Runner – up position.

 

Learning Outcomes:Students were able to express their ideas freely.

They developed stage confidence & public speaking skills as well.

Tata National School Mallakhamb Competitions

On 30th & 31st January 2018, School Games Federation of India had organized 63rd National School Mallakhamb competitions at Solapur for the age group of under 19 boys and girls. Our school student Shradhha Patil represented CBSE team in these matches. There was a participation of total 11 teams from across India.

Tata Building India Initiative – India’s Largest Essay competition 2016-17 – Prabal Mehrotra - City level (Pune) Winner from S.B Patil Public School

It was a moment of great pleasure when Prabal Mehrotra, Student of class X A, became the Pune city level winner of India largest national level essay competition organized by Tata Building India on the 6th of Feb’2016 as an initiative undertaken by the Tata group.

The topic for the essay was “Global Warming and its Impact on the World”. The students were first shown a movie on Tata Groups initiatives to counter various social and environmental issues at the national and international level that the world is facing and were told to write about it. Prabals’ essay had gone through rigorous checking and filtering to be awarded the best from the Pune city.

From our school 150 students participated in this competition. Under the guidance of Mrs. Anjali Gugale and a team of English teachers from the school; Mrs. Anita Suryawanshi, Mrs. Archana Chachar, Mrs. Elizabeth, the best essays were checked and filtered out. It was a tedious and a difficult task to choose the best 5 out of so many good essays written by our school students to compete at the city level. It is moment of great pride for our school to have the winner of the largest essay competition in India at the city level.

This essay competition is very unique and tough because the students got only one chance to write this essay and the same essay will compete at all levels. The students were prepared in such a manner that they write a flawless, crisp and clear essay with good hand writing and with solutions to the present day environmental and social issues the world is facing.

This competition is up to the national level and now the winners will compete at state and zonal level to win the grand national prize which is; visiting the Rashtapati Bhawan and meeting the President of India, the Vice President and other national dignitaries. Also, they will be awarded with laptops and computers as grand prizes.

So far, students from all over Pune have been awarded with trophies, certificates, medals and much more like cameras, books etc. till now. The rewards are given at each level of the competition, according to the students’ performance in their essay writing.

Prabal has won a trophy and a camera for his outstanding performance among the city level winners. We wish him good luck for the upcoming competition at state and zonal level for his essay to be selected to make him the winner of India’s largest essay writing competition at national level. Congratulations and best wishes to Prabal!

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS IN OUR SCHOOL

Our School celebrated Children’s’ Day – which marks the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of Independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ; at its campus on Tuesday 14th November 2017. Our school paid rich tributes to the great leader on this occasion. A special assembly as arranged to mark the occasion. The celebrations began with the garlanding of the photograph of Pandit Nehru at the hands of sub co-ordinator of the Primary Section Mrs. Pooja Dange. Master Rohit of Std IV gave a speech about the favorite leader of children –Chacha Nehru. An A- V presentation related to the celebrating of the birthday of Pandit Nehru as Children’s Day was presented by teachers of the Green House – Mrs. Richa Arora & Miss Aparna Jagdale. Students presented a skit on how much elements of nature like sun, water, air, mountains teach us to live life in a worthwhile manner.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by students; as there were some interesting movies arranged for them in their classrooms. They enjoyed the screening of these movies along with their teachers. All children – particular movies were downloaded & organized in sequence by School teacher Mrs. Anjali Gugale. Students spent quality time through the day- watching movies, playing various games, sharing refreshments they carried along with them, singing songs & also grooving to foot tapping musical numbers. It was a recreative break – through for them from the monotonous daily routine of studies & academic activities. Later in the day, a session on “Act of Kindness” was organized or our students of Std V –VIII in the School Multipurpose Hall. The delegates from Rotary Club, Pradhikaran; Mrs. Aditi Joshi, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony enlightened our students through an A- V Presentation about the significance of practicing the virtue of kindness in our daily lives.

In her address to the students; Principal Mrs. Gairola made students understand that the days of childhood comprise of innocence, curious exploration, and mischievous behavior –but at the same time they should also realize that the seeds of the elderly years are sown at this stage. She called upon students to enjoy childhood; they also need to learn & inculcate skills & attributes that are a requisite for the future; as future India depends on what its resent younger citizens behold with them.

Principal Mrs. Gairola guided the proceedings of the celebrations. School co- ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, sub co-ordinators Mrs. Archana, Mrs. Pooja, Mrs. Vandana; & School teacher Mrs. Anjali Gugale arranged the proceedings of the day’s activities. All the teachers whole –heartedly co- operated & participated enthusiastically in the grand success of the occasion.

OUR STUDENTS MAKE AN EXTRA –EDGE MARK AT INTER – SCHOOL ELOCUTION COMPETITION

Our students had participated in the Inter- School Elocution Competition, organized by under the Director General Youth Parliament Championship (DGYPC), Pune Rural Police Unit, Kolhapur Division. The event was conducted on the 25th of November 2017 at Dr. D.Y.Patil Educational Complex, Akurdi. Our students from class VIII Miss Rohini Shinde & Miss Harsha Sewlani & Master Prabal Mehrotra of class X participated in the event. Our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola encouraged students to participate in the event. They were judge by a panel of 3 judges comprising of a well- known senior journalist & two other senior faculty members from reputed educational institutions in our Pimpri Chinchwad Township. The feather in the cap is that our students bagged the third position; competing with many other schools in the category. They were guided by our Marathi teacher Mrs. Manjusha Nathe & Hindi teacher Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya; with special guidance coming from our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola Ma’am. Our teachers Mr. Chandrakant Thombare & Mrs. Trupti Brijwasi accompanied our students to the event. Our teachers & students were felicitated by the organizers – Principal Shri A.S. Patil Sir, Principal Shri Kondekar Sir, P.I, Dehu Road Police Station; Shri Arun More & P.S.I. Shri Landge – at the venue.

Our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola congratulated the students & teachers for the remarkable success at the competition. School co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda & C.C.A. - in Charge co-ordinated the participation of our students at the event.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Our student’s morale was highly boosted by the success at the event. Their confidence reached a new level, when they got a chance to express themselves about social issues confronted by our society - before men in Khaki uniform & some noted social figures.

OUR STUDENTS MAKE A MELODIOUS MARK AT INTER – SCHOOL GROUP SINGING COMPETITION

Our students had participated in the Inter- School Group Song Competition, organized by B.K. Birla Centre for education -3rd Sarala Birla Inter School Cultural Competition 2017. The event was conducted on the 25th of November 2017. Our students from class VII - IX participated in the competition. Our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola encouraged students to participate in the event. The feather in the cap is that our students bagged the third position; competing with 05 other schools in the category. They were guided by our Music teacher Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge. Mr. Kuldeep & Mrs. Rohini Kanke escorted our students for the contest. Our Principal Mrs.Gairola expressed great pleasure about the success of our School at the competition & she addressed the students to get going for more such laurels in future.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Our students’ morale was highly boosted by the success at the event. They learnt the art of aesthetic expression, with a touch of competitive spirit.

OUR STUDENTS MAKE THEIR MARK AT INTER SCHOOL VN – FEST 2017

20th November 2017 was a day to remember for us at P.C.E.T’s S.B.Patil Public School. 11 of our students had enthusiastically participated in the VN- FEST 2017; organised by Tata Motors Employees Education Trust’s Vidya Niketan English Medium School, Pimpri. We feel it a matter of immense pride that our student of Sr. K.G. of our Pre- Primary Section Miss Pranjal Bhatte bagged the second runner up position in the Pre- primary Section Poetry Recitation Competition. Another feather in the cap were our students of Std VII – Master Shardul Nalegave & Master Austin Loyd; who bagged the first prize in the Computer Quiz Competition conducted for Group C category (Classes V –VII). They were felicitated at the auspicious hands of the Principal of the host Vidya Niketan English Medium School, Honourable Mrs. Vidya Gaikwad Ma’am – with trophies & Certificates. Miss Pranjal was guided by Co- ordinator of the Pre Primary Section, Mrs. Shubhangi Kulkarni & sub co- ordinator Mrs. Payal Nihalani; while Master Shardul & Master Austin were guided by Mrs. Richa Arora & Mrs. Geetanjali Zambre.

Principal Mrs Madhubala Gairola expressed deep satisfaction & pleasure & congratulated the students for bagging great laurels to the School. ARDENT DEVOTION & GIFTED INTELLIGENCE PAY OFF AT INTER – SCHOOL GEETA CHANTING COMPETITION

Our students had participated in the 17th Edition of the Geeta Chanting Competition, organized by Chinmay Mission, Pimpri Chinchwad Township. The event was conducted at our School Campus on the 23rd of September 2017. A total of 75 Students participated in the event meant for students of Std III –X. our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola encouraged students to participate in the event. School Co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda & Sanskrit Teacher Mrs. Rajlakshmi Gupta successfully executed the proceedings of the event. PRIDE FOR OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE EXPRESSED EVERY INCH AT HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATIONS

Our School celebrated Hindi Rashtrabhasha Diwas at its campus on the 14th of September 2017. A Special Celebration was organized to mark the occasion. Our Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola, School co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, teachers & students were present on the occasion.

The event began with a speech delivered by our Hindi subject teacher Mrs. Poonam about the background behind celebrating a special day for Hindi language. Our Choir group students, guided by Music Teacher Mrs. Sulochana Pawar; presented a song; highlighting the importance of Hindi as a national language. Students of Std VII presented a light – note skit about the Importance of Literacy (Shiksha Ka Mahatva). Later, the atmosphere became even lighter & more entertaining as our students became active satirical poets – presenting many hilarious poems under the presentation – Haasya Kavi Sammelan. Addressing students on the occasion, Principal Gairola made students understand that we all do feel proud of our native or mother tongue languages ; but Hindi being the janani of all them –it deserves that extra edge respect & dignity above other languages.

Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola guided the organizing of the celebrations. Co-ordinator Mrs. Banda, Hindi Teachers Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya, Mrs. Deepika Kannao, Mrs. Rajlakshmi Gupta, Mrs. Trupti Brijwasi, Mrs. Chandrakala Sharma & Mrs. Poonam Singh organised the proceedings of the event.

Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya compeered the session &also proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Learning Outcomes: Students demonstrated a sense of pride for the national language of their country.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATIONS

Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust’s S.B.Patil Public School celebrated the auspicious occasion of Guru Pournima at its campus on the 6th of September 2017. A Special Assembly was organized to mark the occasion. Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola, School co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, Pre Primary Co-ordiantor Mrs. Shubhangi Kulkarni, all the teachers & students were present on the occasion.

The event began with the garlanding of the photograph of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan at the hands of Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola This was followed by felicitation of the Principal, School Co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, Pre Primary Co-ordiantor Mrs. Shubhangi Kulkarni.

The Choir Group of our School & students of Std X –Master Viraj, Master Sanskar & Master Devesh presented some songs, applauding the significance of teachers. Students of Std X presented some foot -tapping dance performances on the occasion. A skit was put up by students of Std VIII, titled ‘’Rowdies to Goodies’’ –which focused on how a teacher alters the lives of students by bringing out the best in them. Master Prabal Mehrotra of Std X presented a very beautiful poem in Hindi about the great place a teacher has in a students’ life.

School teachers Mrs. Nirupama kale & Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya shared their experiences in the course of their teaching profession & also gave some tips to students as to how they could become successful in their lives.

In her address to the students, Principal Mrs. Gairola made the students understand that they need to be obedient towards their teachers & follow the instructions given by them. The best gift the Students could give tot the teachers is the gift of being obedient, hardworking & ultimately successful & resourceful citizens of the future. She remarked that teachers need not be the only ones who give formal education to students –anything that teaches something new in our lives could be regarded as a teacher. She further added that the significance of a teacher lies predominantly in the fact; as she quoted -: “If you wish to destroy a nation, destroy its education system”.

Co-ordinator Mrs. Banda & C.C.A. –in- Charge Miss Swaleha Mujawar & students of Std X arranged the proceedings of the event. GURU POURNIMA CELEBRATIONS (SPECIAL ASSEMBLY)

Our School conducted a Special Assembly on the auspicious occasion of Guru Pournima at its Campus on the 8th of July 2017. Principal of the School, Mrs. Madhubala Gairola, Primary co –ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, teachers & students of Std. VIII – X were present on the occasion.

Hindi Teacher Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya elaborated upon the importance of obeying our Guru who is the Path – guides for our lives. The Choir Group presented a song highlighting the significance of the occasion. Students presented a short skit on the celebrated fable of a young boy Aruni’s devotion to his Guru – Dhaumya Rishi.

Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola guided the proceedings of the event. Co- ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda organized the proceedings of the day. Mrs. Darshana Kamat, Mrs. Rachana Sisodiya, Mrs. Sulochana Pawar & students of the Green House conducted the Special Assembly for the day.

LEADERS OF TOMORROW TAKE CHARGE TODAY

In an auspicious ceremony held at its campus; Our S.B. Patil Public School witnessed its Annual Investiture Ceremony today, the 20th of June 2017.

The ceremony was attended by Our Hon’ble Principal Mrs. Madhubala Gairola Ma’am, School co-ordinator Mrs. Padmavati Banda, teachers & students of Std VII –IX.

Mrs Anjali Gugale introduced the function & elaborated upon the meaning & scope of Investiture Ceremony; flavoured by some quotes & proverbs. It was followed by the awarding of sashes, badges & flags to the Student leaders at the auspicious hands of Mrs. Gairola Ma’am & the House – in –charges of the various Houses - Mrs. Sakshi Shinde, Mrs. Darshana Kamat & Mrs. Prutha Vaidya; along with former Head Boy, Head Girl, School Prefect & the team of House Captains & Vice Captains.

Then followed the Oath Taking proceeding in which Principal Mrs. Gairola Ma’am, as per a new initiative each time –assigned the honour of conducting the Oath – taking over to C.C.A. –in – Charge Miss Swaleha Mujawar – who conducted the swearing in of the newly appointed student leaders to their designations.

In her address to the students, Principal Mrs. Gairola Ma’am made the student leaders understand that a true leader is the one who creates more leaders. It is not just that a leader leads & others follow; but the doctrine of leadership lies in collectively functioning with fellow mates, taking into consideration their opinions in decision making process & moving forward as a group than as an individual alone.

NATIONAL ASTRONOMY CHALLENGE 2017

Our School had conducted the National Astronomy Challenge Examination 2017; mentored by STEM RESEARCH & INNOVATION Ltd. New Delhi.

The venue for the Examination was our School Campus. The Examination was held on Saturday 29 th of April 2017 between 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. A total of seven students participated in the contest that tested their knowledge about phenomenon related to astronomy – under the prescribed syllabus provided as online study material provided by the host organization STEM RESEARCH & INNOVATION Ltd. Students were put to test for a total of 60 questions in M.C.Q. format.
