Nursery Fancy Dress Activity

Fancy dress is of great benefit to children for building their imagination & vocabulary
To enhance creativity, imagination and build confidence Virtual Fancy Dress Activity was conducted for the students of Nursery section on 9th February 2022 & the theme for the activity was "Our Helpers".
The tiny tots were beautifully dressed up as teacher, doctor, painter, pilot, vegetable vendor, police, soldier.
The children spoke confidently about the character they depicted. Through their enthusiasm & colourful imagination, the Nursery kids turned the activity into a roaring success. This activity helped the students of Nursery to overcome their stage fear, bring out their inner talent, give them a platform to built their self-confidence and explore their inner strength.
Jr. KG - Show & Tell Activity
Children are always eager to show their toys, books and whatever they have. They elaborate very simple things also with so much excitement like colorful pencils or erasers of different shapes etc. To give this opportunity to our tiny tots, the Pre Primary- Jr.KG section arranged "Show & Tell Activity" on 08-02-2022. It was a wonderful way to introduce Public Speaking to our kids. This activity helped them to develop confidence, awareness, gratitude & ability to re-tell something to others. Our champions participated with a variety of objects such as Umbrella, Doll, Piano, Favourite Toy, Dinosaur etc. Teachers enjoyed the students' sweet talk. This was indeed a fantastic activity.
Sr. KG Marathi Balgeet Activity
Language is the foundation for most learning -whether it is moral development, social skills or gaining factual knowledge. Learning one's native language, especially in the early years of childhood has its benefits with regard to increased concentration, multitasking and the ability to process different thoughts. By teaching children the local /native language, children gain a sense of identity and a feeling of belonging is instilled in their minds. Balgeet or children rhymes is very important for kindergarteners to learn the wonderful sound of the language & simple rhyming words give the magical touch for children to pick up the language and become fluent in it as well as being confident in expressing their thoughts and improving their communication skills. The Pre Primary section had organized a 'Marathi Balgeet activity' for Sr.KG students on 8th February 2022 to motivate and boost the overall cognitive development of the child.
Children pro-actively participated in the activity using different props and melodiously sang the balgeet in their mother tongue with full confidence. Children sang popular Marathi balgeet like Nach re Mora, Kilbil kilbil pakshi boltai, Ye Aai mala pawasat jaau de to name a few. Teachers appreciated students for their active participation, confidence and use of beautiful home made props.
Nursery Clay Modelling Activity
To create something from scratch is indeed to be proud of & empowering. Playing & modeling with clay helps the child to develop a sense of control. The touch & feel of clay have a naturally relaxing quality. By pressing, squeezing, poking & reshaping the clay into different shapes, improves a child’s motor skills. Keeping in this mind, S. B. Patil school conducted A virtual “Clay Modelling Activity” for Nursery children on 10th January 2022. The students used their imagination & it was a pleasure to watch their petite fingers at work making colourful & artistic models of “Nature”. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique & amazing creations like trees, flowers, butterflies, sun, moon, rainbow, fruits, veggies etc. This outstanding sensory activity enhanced fine motor skills & helped to boost the self-confidence of the tiny-tots.
Sr. KG MONO ACT ACTIVITY
The Pre primary section of S. B. Patil Public School had provided a Virtual platform for their Sr.KG students to exhibit their acting skill by organizing a Mono Act activity on 12th January 2022. The objective behind this event was to encourage students to open up, to overcome hesitation, stage fear and to build up their confidence. Children participating in such activities become aware of their creative side, their imagination gets a boost and they learn to appreciate the beauty in language and emotions.
The talented little artists took the challenge of mono acting and gave their best with proper dialogue delivery, they got into the character they were playing, their body language, and confidence was commendable. Children enacted as doctors, cricketers, online teachers, their favorite superheroes like Iron man, vegetable vendors etc... They used appropriate props and costumes to give a very colorful and captivating performance to their audience. Children also gave social messages on topics like 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' , save water, importance of segregating dry and wet waste, use of cloth bags over plastic covers and save the environment, avoiding junk food, stay at home & follow all the protocols to help control spread of covid etc.. were the few important topics children highlighted about. Here children enjoyed the activity and also learnt many things in an entertaining way and developed their speaking skills and confidence. Participants were overjoyed with the appreciation they received from their teachers and classmates.
Jr.KG - ORIGAMI ACTIVITY
Can you imagine, the always curious ones, a little impatient, bubbly 4 - 5 year olds are sitting at a place totally engrossed, taking care of the detailing and sequence of folding with their tiny little hand and transforming a piece of paper into a three dimensional beautiful art, it's such an adorable sight. The skill of origami not only stimulates fine motor skills, it boosts the mental concentration, eye - hand coordination and the imagination power of the child. With this objective in mind the Pre primary section had organized a Virtual Origami Activity for Jr. KG children on 7th January 2022.
Children enthusiastically participated and presented their creations adhering to the topics given to them like birds, animals and insects. Children made dogs, cats, foxes, dinosaur, fishes, dolphin, rabbits, crab, butterflies and displayed it with such creativity, putting in their imagination to give a wonderful background to their creation.Teacher encouraged them to speak a line or two about their creation and in turn their friends applauded and this boosted the confidence of all the participants.
Learning needs to be fun, and inclusion of such activities gives them a break from the monotonous routine. It also gives them the motivation, and brings in a holistic development in the child.
Sr.KG Origami Activity
A humble piece of square paper lying in an origami paper packet says, pierce me, fold me, bend me, break me, I won't complain as I know at the end I will turn into something you like, a beautiful creation which others will see and marvel at.
The Sr.KG teachers stood in admiration as their students' tiny fingers skillfully folded the Origami paper slowly, step by step in sequence using their logical thinking skill and presented wonderful creations of nature through paper origami like dog, butterflies, mountains, lotus, christmas tree, frog, birds to name a few during the monthly activity organized for them on Friday, 26 November 2021.Origami requires hand-eye coordination, develops fine-motor skills and supports mental concentration – all of which stimulate the brain. When kids follow instructions through the paper-folding challenges, both the motor and visual areas of their brains are activated. As the mind starts to get absorbed, you give in to the moment and let yourself be distracted. As the design comes into fruition, you feel a sense of satisfaction and achievement and boosts the confidence in the child.
Origami is all around us and can be a source of inspiration for children and adults alike .We see this art in our daily utility items like paper bags, pizza box, decoration done during festivals thus avoiding plastic decoration items.

Jr. KG English Story Telling with puppets Activity
Children love to see, play & communicate with puppets. Story with puppets develop interest & encourages children to listen to the story carefully, help to understand properly & develop their speaking as well as listening skills.
Seeing these things, the Jr.KG section arranged an “English Story Telling with puppets” activity on 27-11-2021. When kids use puppets to enact stories, they put their artistic acumen to work and engage in deep comprehension thinking as well!
It is full of entertainment for children to see each activity with puppets like poem, rhyme, story. Also it maintains the attention span of a child. Narrator uses his/ her body language using puppets & develops cognitive & fine motor skills. It helps to develop self-confidence, vocabulary, creativity and storytelling in sequence.
Students presented wonderful stories on different topics using a variety of puppets with voice modulation thus catching the attention of the audience. Teacher appreciated the use of homemade puppets & the confidence of children depicted in narrating the story.
Nursery English Recitation Activity
Poem is meant for enjoyment. Poem recitation is one of the important and effective mode of learning a language. Keeping in this mind, Nursery section conducted “English Recitation Activity” on 24th November 2021 virtually.
Our tiny tots participated with great zeal & exhibited their talent by reciting poems. The children chose a verity of topics for their recitation like finger family, wheels on the bus, Jack & Jill, Teddy bear, Rain,rain etc. It was a great experience to watch these little ones express themselves through articulation and confidence.
Jr. KG English Recitation Activity
Recitation is one of the most effective modes of learning language for basic level keeping this in mind Jr. KG section has arranged English Recitation Activity on 21-10-2021 on a virtual platform.
Recitation has its own rhythm, music, beats which are helpful for child's language development. It also helps the students to practice pitch, voice inflection & volume.
Our tiny Rockstars sang songs / rhymes / poems very effectively even though they used props timely. Decoration was very creative & attractive. We all enjoyed this activity very much.
Creativity is making marvelous out of the discarded - Sr.KG Activity
"Often when you think you're at the end of something, it is miraculously the beginning of something anew.There's so much depth in this quote, and it aptly describes the manifold stages of our life.Right when one period of time ends, a new one begins, be it a year, completing a class or reading a book.The same can be said about everything that is part of this world.
It is the dire need of the hour to conserve and sustain our environment for future generations, and for this we need to learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle things, which all-in-all brings focus to the above quote 'the end of something, is the beginning of something'. Determined to instill this quality in the young minds at an early age we selected 'Best out of Waste' theme as activity of the month for Sr.kg section.
Thinking out of the box, pushing oneself, creating something new out of waste is a challenge which our challengers well accepted and came forward with such jaw dropping innovative creations leaving everyone astounded. Children made artifacts of use and of decoration by cutting ,gluing, arranging ,laying and assembling them together and presenting finished masterpieces, thus giving their fine and gross motor skills the needed fine tuning in their developing age. Waste materials like paper plates and glasses, cardboard packings ,CD, newspapers, coconut shells,dry leaves, bangles etc were skillfully turned into masterpieces of wall decoration, pen stand, cardboard bulldozer toy and head gear to name a few. Students enjoyed creating and presenting their creations at the same time learning a valuable lesson of not wasting things but to recycle and reuse them.
Nursery Sanskrit Shloka Activity
Shloka chanting has been a part of our tradition from time immemorial. Chanting shloka spreads purity to the environment all around. To experience the fragrance of the same “Sanskrit Shloka Recitation Activity” was conducted virtually in Nursery section of S. B. Patil Public School on 4th October 2021.
Students showcased their talented by reciting shloka, the rhythmic form of Sanskrit recitation. Chanting of shlokas created a divine vibration during online.
This activity helped children to developed pronunciation & memory.
Around The World - Glimpse by our Sr.Kindergarteners
"The World is a book, and those who do not travel only read only one page of it " it's a famous quote which reflects and talks about gaining real life education, broadening our horizons, boosting our confidence, improving our communication skills etc. For the overall development of a child it is very important to give them exposure and to build in curiosity to explore things around them. To ignite this spark of curiosity in our little champs to explore things beyond their online classes, to be fearless in expression ,and to boost their speaking skills, SBPPS pre primary section had arranged a colourful event on 24th September 2021 for Sr.KG students. The tiny tots gave a brilliant performance in front of their teachers and friends showcasing their talent in a virtual 'Around the World' activity. Children represented themselves from states across our country to name a few like Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Punjab ,Bengal, Karnataka, Bihar all dressed up in traditional attires, accessories, props and shared information with their friends about their different culture, cuisine, weather, sport played ,capital of the city. We had children representing countries like Japan, Spain, France etc. Teacher congratulated the children for their marvellous performance and emphasized here on the importance of respecting and learning from others and valuing the difference in all people.
Jr. KG Clay Modeling Activity
Clay modeling is a great activity which helps kids develop in many ways. Keeping this in mind the Jr.KG section had arranged Clay Modelling Activity on 24-09-2021. Clay Modeling is a fun activity which also gives a chance to express their imagination, creativity, observation, it improves their fine motor skills and self confidence. Kids made eye-catching models like their favorite cartoon characters such as Doremon, Mickey Mouse, vehicles like cars, bicycles, electronic gadgets like Mobile, Remote, etc. Teachers appreciated & congratulated children for their active participation & for wonderful creation.
Nursery Colouring Activity
We celebrate every moment of our life with vibrant colours of nature. They are the source of joy and happiness for everyone. Keeping this in mind S. B. Patil School organized A Colouring Activity for the tiny tots of Nursery on 06/09/2021. The little artists participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm and at the same time took great care to colour their masterpieces with their creativity. The students coloured beautifully in “A Baby Sheep” and exhibited their skills by filling colours in the picture. It helped them in exploring new ideas, creativity as well as a sense of colours. The fun they had is certainly going to add a new innings to their colourful childhood memories.
Jr. KG Hindi Patriotic Song Activity
Respect & love for our country can easily be developed through patriotic songs. This thread brings out the importance of Patriotism. The Jr.KG section has arranged Hindi Patriotic Song Activity on 12th & 13th August 2021 for our next generation. Patriotism is a quality that everyone has within him/her which flows out through love, care, brotherhood and inculcates the sense of oneness. Patriotic songs encourage us to do something good for our own country. It brings a sense of fulfillment and responsibility towards the country. In short it gives you a feeling to cherish your mother land and feel proud to be a part of it. Kids appeared in outfits of Soldiers, freedom fighters & Tricolor along with our piece of heart - Tricolor Flag. Hindi is our Rashtrabhasha. They showed their feelings towards the country through Hindi Patriotic Song. It was a great experience for all of us.
Nursery Hindi Poem Recitation Activity
“Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words.”
Poems are a platform to help the children understand the beauty of thoughts, expressions and feelings along with the rhythm of words. They are also a source of enjoyment for children. To spread the fragrance of poetry among children, Hindi Poem Recitation Activity was organized for Nursery kids on 13th August 2021. Kids got an opportunity to showcase their poetry recitation skills. The children came up with different poems and recited them with great enthusiasm.
They enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words.
This activity helped the children to develop their imagination, gain self-confidence and improve their oratory skills.
Sr.KG Hindi Patriotic Song Activity
'The Power Of Music' - It ignites all areas of child development: intellectual ,self-expression, improves social skills, helps to focus and relieves stress, language development, promotes self confidence and overall literacy.
In the course of Independence Day celebrations, the Sr.KG section conducted 'Hindi Patriotic song activity' on Friday 13th August, 2021. This activity was organized to teach them the importance and bring in the feeling of patriotism towards our country and appreciate the freedom we enjoy today .Children participated in the activity with full enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their talent to their teachers and friends on a virtual platform. The spirits were sky high ,all were dressed up and used props to favor the theme and song selected for the event was apt . As it was, virtual event parents also put in their best ,by giving a wonderful creative backdrop for child's performance. Children sang very sweetly old hindi patriotic melodies like ' Sare Jahan se acha' , 'Nanha muna rahe hu' and ' Hum hoge kamyab' to name a few .Their confidence , expressions, use of props got them a big round of applause from their teachers and friends. It was one wonderful melodious event ,leaving everyone with a smile and a sense of pride.
Nursery Balgeet Activity
Rhymes are part of children’s’ pre-literacy skills & help in their cognitive development. Rhyming also teaches children the sound of the language.
To introduce our children to the regional language “Marathi”, we conducted “Marathi Baalgeet Activity” for our Nursery kids on 19th July 2021 virtually. The children enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. To name a few they recited poems like Yere yere pavasa, Abdak tabdak ghodoba, Asava sundar chocolatecha bangla. They recited the poems with great confidence and home-made props.
Jr. KG Marathi Balgeet Activity
Children develop language skills through watching, listening and with practice. Singing and listening to songs help young children to develop their language, pronunciation skills and vocabulary . Keeping this in mind, the Jr.KG section had arranged an online *'Marathi Balgeet Activity*'on Friday 16-07-2021 to provide an opportunity to increase new vocabulary and to give a platform to present themselves and to build confidence. Songs introduce children to new words, rhyming words, patterns, and rhythm. Through repetition, children gain familiarity with these elements of language and begin to apply the words and phrases to daily conversation. Children showed their enthusiasm & ability by singing various Marathi Balgeet like Nach re Mora, Chiv Chiv Chimani, Asava Sundar chocolate cha Bangla, Saang Saang Bholanath etc. The atmosphere turned very melodious and pleasant as our tiny tots gave their best performance for the Balgeet Activity.
Sr. KG Collage Making Activity
Art has a big role in educating children to create an identity of their own, to express themselves ,their feelings and be unique instead of imitating others. To bring out the unique hidden talent in our students, the Pre primary section had arranged a Collage Making Activity for Sr.KG students on Tuesday 13th July 2021.The pictures given were the theme of the month - Fruits and vegetables ,in addition to these images of Rainy season and Butterfly were also given as a choice. Children participated whole heartedly and gave their best which was very prominently seen through the artwork presented by them .Children made collage and send the completed art work pictures to their teachers .Their selection of colours ,manipulating and arranging the bits of papers until they are satisfied with the arrangement all helped in developing their skills of analysing and problem solving . This also developed their fine motor skill in a fun filled way . Teachers appreciated the little wonders for their beautifully crafted collage work ,this boosted the confidence of our twinkling stars. Through collage making children could also learn the beauty in ordinary things and to grow in resourcefulness by appreciating the possibilities of using simple materials for art expression.
