Artistic Skills at Display

The Pre-Primary section of S.B. Patil Public School conducted an Origami activity on February 10th, 2023.Junior KG participated in this creative venture with great zeal and high spirits.

The tiny tots were amazed to see a flat sheet of paper being transformed by folding into a finished sculpture. The budding stars created unique and exclusive shapes and structures to showcase their finesse in paper crafting. They made animals, trees and birds relevant to the theme of nature given by teachers, and displayed them with great pleasure and gratification. This activity put to the test their imagination and enhanced their creative skills.

The paper folding craft was not only a fun-filled experience but it also proved to be a valuable means to develop artistic skills in the young ones.

Ad Maestros in the Making:
The Nursery -d Mad Show

Advertising is a method used to sell a product by making it attractive to the seller. To acquaint students with promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements, S.B. Patil Public School organised an Ad-Mad Show competition for the students of Nursery.

The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm. The competition helped the students enhance their skills in expression, voice modulation and dialogue delivery. Most of the students came up with unique ideas and well-written scripts for the advertisements. They advertised simple things like pencil, erasers, tiffin boxes, etc. It was an excellent learning experience.

Marathi Balgeet

"Good learnings happen when it touches their mind and heart". Usage of mother tongue not just improves child’s learning outcomes, but also instills knowledge of Indian languages. And balgeet, especially marathi balgeet as we are in Maharashtra does a lot of it. The rhymes and rhythms in it opens a treasure of imagination and of course vocabulary too. To embrace the expressions of our tiny tots we had conducted a Marathi Balgeet Activity for Senior KG section. Students were high with enthusiasm to get a chance to express and recite the balgeet. Their cheerful imaginations got unboxed on the stage. Students really enjoyed reciting the balgeets and moving to the rhythm of the same. To conclude, the activity added to their stage confidence, recitation skills, actions and expressions.

The Community Helpers Activity

In our life we meet many people who help us in the many tasks we undertake in our daily lives. Right from the milk we drink, brought by the milkman; to the car we drive, safely guided by the traffic policeman; to the roads we walk on, kept clean by the sweepers, many people play a very important role in keeping our community and society safe, clean and organized.

And to bring about an understanding of these special people, the Nursery section arranged a Community Helpers activity in which our little ones participated. Dressed in proper attire and using props wisely, the toddlers took part in myriad skits which in itself was an eye-catching performance.

Clayton activity

Modeling is a great way to develop child's fine motor skills, imagination etc. Keeping this in mind, 'A clay modeling competition' was held in Nursery section wherein our tiny tots participated enthusiastically. Students presented clay models on the topic animals and insects. It was amazing to watch the little artists creatively giving shape to their imagination.

ENGLISH STORYTELLING WITH PROPS ACTIVITY (12-01-2023)

Storytellers can broaden our mind: engage, provoke, inspire and ultimately, connect us..

To brush out the storyteller hidden inside our little tots, our Pre-primary section had conducted English Storytelling activity for Sr.KG section. Telling a story is an art. The narrator's voice modulation, actions, facial expressions helps to tranport the listeners to that very world of story. And if the narrator uses props then its like cherry on the cake. Our little storytellers too had put in lots of efforts to narrate their stories. Students had brought amazing props and some had even taken an extra effort by making handmade props to ornament their storytelling. This also gives an opportunity to students to improve their confidence and public speaking skills which is an essential element in this century.

There are no rules of architecture for castle in the clouds...for imagination will get you everywhere. So if we want our little ones to be more intelligent then read them more fairy tales because stories gives them the power to dream with open eyes and develop their imagination and creativity. And narrating the stories themselves is then an out-pour of their imaginations and understandings.

Storytelling with Puppet - Junior Kindergarten

A conversation with loved ones is always special and makes us feel good. The same holds true for children as well. They love to converse, listen to stories, or make up a story and tell it to others, it fires up their imaginations, and gets them fully involved in what they are doing. Through storytelling, children are encouraged to listen to others, whether it be the storyteller or others listening to the story. It also improves language skills, focus, confidence and brain development in the child. To boost all these qualities SBPPS had organised a story telling with puppets activity for their Jr.KG section on 6th January 2023.

Storytelling comes alive with puppets. Puppets are very effective aids for enhancing creativity and improving communication skills. Handling and manipulating puppets also help a child develop gross and fine motor skills. Children came forward and captivated their friends' attention with their interesting handmade puppets and narrative skills with few also modulating their voice. Teachers encouraged participants with motivational words and gave star stickers leaving them elated and more confident.

“English poem Recitation Activity”

Poem is a way of expressing our thoughts. Reciting a poem encourages a child to memorize and immerse themselves in powerful language. Keeping in this mind “English poem Recitation Activity” was held in the Nursery section of S. B. Patil Public school on Friday, 9th December 2022.

Our tiny tots recited lively and cheerful poems. The content, presentation, use of props and the confidence of the participants were praiseworthy. Children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

"I can sell anything - the sky too.....!"

AD MAD is a platform for students to showcase their presentation skills and explore their creativity. S.B. Patil Public School, Pre-primary section had organized an 'AD Mad Activity' for their Junior & Senior KG sections on Thursday, 8th December 2022 to bring out the creative streak in their tiny tots. The activity aimed at enhancing the students' skills in enacting, expression, voice modulation, stage presence and dialogue delivery. The students were expected to present an Ad that has the essentials of a good Advertisement, i.e. clarity, originality, thought provoking, creativity, appeal and simplicity.

Most of the students came up with unique ideas and participated with a lot of enthusiasm. The little advertisers came up with different products to sell, to name a few, like masks, milk, sanitizer, cloth bags, hair oils, tooth fairy selling toothpaste for stronger teeth and gums, they were all dressed up in appropriate costumes along with props to showcase their products. Some even touched on important issues through advertisements of their products such as using their rough and tough 'Cloth Bags' to protect the environment from plastic waste. Also an ad of Made in India 'Seed Pencils' which when discarded in the soil will grow into a new plant, grabbed everyone's attention. Such eco-friendly products are indeed the need of the hour.

It was fun to watch the children as they spoke about numerous interesting products using comical punches, jingles and some having a storyline to advertise their products. Overall it was an enriching experience for the students.

"Sanskrit Shloka Activity Nursery Angels"

Sanskrit is the mother of all Indian languages. The beauty of its sound and precision in its pronunciation makes it a unique language. Sanskrit shlokas can help boost our ability to retain memory. To instill within our young ones the values and understanding of same, a Shloka chanting activity was conducted in the Nursery section on 10th November 2022.

The students actively participated in the competition by chanting shlokas with utmost sincerity. They displayed great confidence as they chanted difficult shlokas with ease. It was a pleasure to see the tiny tots participating with such zeal and enthusiasm.

"Creativity is making marvelous out of the discarded "

Today, where waste management and the thre R's recycling, reusing, reducing is the most eminent topic on discussion among countries during global environment summits , here Pre-primary section of S.B Patil Public School has kept a stepping stone towards environment conservation by organizing Best out of waste competition. This gives an opportunity to students to bring out their creativity to reuse various things and be a part of the green army. Our students enjoyed the activity and showed us even little hands can change the world. Students made wonderful things out of paper cup, plastic bottles, pista shells, pencil sharpenings, etc. Recycling things is like magic that turns ordinary things into extraordinary. When your environment is clean you feel happy, motivated and healthy.

"Rhythmic Expression by Junior Kindergartners"

"The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round... " goes on the recitation, one after the other. Then the next participant comes and recites other famous rhymes from the collection, like 5 Little monkeys jumping on the bed one after the other, each giving wonderful performances of the classic old rhymes and some singing the new latest rhymes during the recitation activity which was held on Friday, 11th of November 2022 for the Jr.KG section at S. B. Patil Public School. The little ones reciting different jingles rhythmically with actions and props enjoying doing so were unknowingly fine tuning their public-speaking, listening skills and also improving their focus and memory through recitation. Reciting poetry also helped them to emphasize on the sound and the rhythm of language, thus building a child's phonemic awareness and helping to solidify a foundation for reading abilities. Teachers and fellow students applauded each participant for their enthusiasm, presentation thus sending back a self-content confident personality.

"Around the World"

This year we will reflect upon what makes us unique and what still binds us all together: Humanity, kindness and happiness. We are all one, wherever in the world we are. As different as we might seem, we still share very similar ideas and values.

The Senior KG section of S.B. Patil Public School conducted an Around the World Activity on 16th of September 2022 wherein the little toddlers talked about the tradition and culture of different countries and states like India, China, Japan, Maharashtra, Kerala, TamilNadu, Punjab and so on. They further dressed in appropriate attires to match the country of their choice.

This was an enlightening, entertaining and educational activity from which both teacher and toddler learned a lot.

"SBPPS Clayton Activity"

Clay modeling has many educational benefits like eye-hand coordination, creativity, attention span, outstanding sensory activity which enhances dexterity, gross and fine motor skills and helps to boost the self-confidence of the students. Keeping this in mind, the Jr.KG section of S.B.Patil school conducted "Clayton Activity" on 15th September 2022. The tiny little hands worked smoothly and efficiently to fulfil their heart desires and fantasies. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique and amazing creations such as Electric gadgets, Fruits, Vegetables, Modes of transport etc. and displayed them with pride. It was a great way to develop imagination and sparkle creativity to think out of the box. It was fun to have such a wonderful activity for kids. Big applause for the little creators.

"Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words"

Poems are a platform to help the children understand the beauty of thoughts, expressions and feelings along with the rhythm of words. They are also a source of enjoyment for children. To spread the fragrance of poetry among children, Hindi Poem Recitation Activity was organized for Nursery kids on 12th September 2022. Kids got an opportunity to showcase their poetry recitation skills. The children came up with different poems and recited them with great enthusiasm.

They enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words.

This activity helped the children to develop their imagination, gain self-confidence and improve their oratory skills.

"75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav"

Music ignites all areas of child development: Intellectual, Social and Emotional, Motor Language and Overall Literacy. It helps the body and mind to work together.

In order to inculcate Patriotism, Pre- Primary section gave information on Independence day, and Sr.KG and Jr.KG section of Pre-Primary conducted Patriotic Song Activity on 12th August 2022. Patriotic songs are the songs that demonstrate love for one's country, glorify self-sacrifice, land's beauty, history or ideals.

This activity was organized to expose our children to music while also enhancing their language and presentation skills. The children showcased a sense of pride, self-esteem and self confidence for their country. While the choice of songs ranged from the patriotic to popular, it was interesting that each child had worked hard to comprehend the lyrics, used a variety of props and sang a song with conviction.

The confidence, expression and talent of the children made the event truly memorable.

"Collage" A Modern Art

"Painting from nature is not copying the object, it's realising one's sensations."

As said by Paul Cezanne famous quote says nature is not just for bringing the objects on paper, but it also brings everyone's emotion in it.

To enhance this emotion and creative skills, Sr.Kg section held an activity of collage making on 20th July 2022, Wednesday. The term collage (from the French: coller, "to glue";) was coined by both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art. The enthusiastic students got an opportunity to exhibit their divergent thinking and creativity. Students had to decide what to use and how best to use the material to express themselves.

The art of making collage came up with colourful image and students were super happy to see the final picture.

Marathi Balgeet Activity - Nursery & Junior KG

Learning to speak in the mother tongue or their native language is very important for a child's overall development. It connects him to his culture and aids in the learning of other languages.To promote this benefits Pre primary section had organized a Marathi Balgeet Activity for Its Nursery & Junior KG section on 6th July 2022. Tiny tots just having stepped into their school, to make them comfortable & open up into their new environment this activity was a sort of ice breaker. For most of the students Marathi being their mother tongue, there was an active participation amongst students. Parents contributed by sending lovely home made props apt for their child's performance and song selection. It was such an adorable sight to see the cute angels recite the balgeet using the props. This activity helped them improve their cognitive & memory skill, helped them in self expression & boosted their confidence. Children recited balgeets like Ye Re Ye Re Pavasa, Traffic Dada - Traffic Dada, Lahan mazi Bahuli, Chiv Chiv Chimani, Ek Hote Idli to name a few. Tiny tots were thrilled and all smiles as they heard a big round of applause for their performance given by their friends and teachers. They left the stage with a new acquired self confidence.
