Sports Achievers 2021-22
Sports Week - Play & Lead...!
As the pandemic carries on and students continue with their online classes, their chances of playing outdoors have been cut down, addiction to electronic gadgets is on a rise; this is a common scenario in most of the houses today. For the overall development of a child physical activity plays a great role. Sports experiences help to build positive self- esteem in children. In addition, participating in sports can be a helpful way of reducing stress and increasing feelings of physical and mental well-being. It helps them perform better in school, setting goals and managing their time. Sports also help children to overcome their adversity. To give the kiddos of Pre primary section all these experiences and benefits of physical activities, the school had organized a Virtual Sports Week from 17th January to 21st January 2022.
The excitement was in the air, it could be clearly seen on the happy faces of the tiny tots. Their queries for the next day's game would immediately pop up as soon as the day's sports activity got over. Teacher would explain the game with videos sent a week prior with the sports teacher demonstrating the game. Age appropriate games were planned for the kindergarteners to promote their fine and gross motor skills. The little ones of Nursery enjoyed playing sports games like Grab the ball, Fun with Gems and Lemon Jar. Jr.KG had games like Fun Route, Biscuit Munch, Blind Fold, Penguin Walk & Super Mario. Sr.KG had a level higher challenging games such as Collecting of Rajma (with pegs), Fork and Spoon Pattern Game, Toss the Ball, Lemon & Spoon and Sorting of Vegetables. Teachers cheered the children and appreciated them for their active participation and the enthusiasm they showed.
Each participant was the winner of the Virtual Sports Week. They earned medals of self-confidence, leadership & perseverance.
