Odisha Showcased:
The CBSE Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat Exhibition

In lieu of the CBSE’s “Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat” activity, the students of S.B. Patil Public school organised an exhibition that showcased the culture and tradition of Odisha. The event, which was held on February 28th, 2022 in the school’s multipurpose hall was in adherence to the CBSE guidelines which paired the states of Odisha and Maharashtra with each showcasing the culture of the other.
Arranged by the Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat (EBSB) Club, all the members collected various artifacts and objects originating and made by the students to canvas the state of Odisha in the best manner possible.
Commencing in the morning, the event was inaugurated by PTA Member, Mr. Nishant Dekate; the principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; and vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda. The primary section English Language teacher, Ms. Pranita Sharma; and primary section Hindi Language teacher, Ms. Chandrakala Sharma anchored the show in English and Hindi respectively, and welcomed the audience to witness the exotic beauty of Odisha.
Sauravi Yadav of I Grade V performed a welcome dance to the steps and rhythm of the Dalkhai. Parnavi Bhalerao of I-C welcomed the audience with a speech in Odiya. Students, assisted by the art and music teacher, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadage crafted badges for chief guest and other dignitaries, and these were presented by the head boy and girl, Utsav Murudi and Ishita Devshatwar of X-B. Primary social science teacher, Ms. Saumya Sadanandan gave a presentation which envisaged various themes like religion, social life, arts and crafts and socio-economics of the local people.
The club members arranged various counters to display the art and culture of Odisha.
1. Saraswati Pooja: Students paid reverence to the Goddess Sararwati with a section decored with the image of the Goddess.
2. Rangoli was drawn by rangoli team, which showcased the Pandhari Yatra (Ashadhi Ekadashi) in Maharashtra and Jagannath Rath Yatra in Odisha, and was frescoed on the floor to juxtapose the similarity in religious aspects. The theme of the rangoli was “Total submission to God” and was presented by Deshna Neheta and Saina Joshi of VIII-E.
3. Durga Pooja: A beautiful depiction of Navratri Festival with regional customs and traditions of Odia people was displayed by the teachers along with students. A large picture of the Goddess Durga was decorated with flowers, and lit with colour fuldiyas with offerings of sweets. Alparangoli, which is a daily custom among the people of Odisha, was drawn in front of Durga Pooja counter by Sucharita Roy and Sushmita Ma’am.
Eshana Roy performed of Grade V, a dhunuchi dance which added to the splendour of the Durga Puja exhibition. This counter was introduced to the guests by Hridaya Nawal of VIII-B and Aarya Joshi VIII-E.
4. Wooden artifacts were displayed at another counter which showed handicrafts made by artisans. The handmade crafts were displayed to show the regional varieties. Various toys, jewellery boxes, animals made out of wood were displayed. Various jute articles were shaped in and represented in form of God Ganpati and Kathakali artist face. The volunteer for the booth were Tanishka Patil Grade V-B and Vaidehi Shinde Grade V-C.
5. Jewellery: Shell and conches were weaved together by a thread to make sea-side jewellery to exhibit the art form of Odisha. Teachers collected silver jewellery, which is specialty of Odisha. Bulgari, Verdura and Filigree (Tarkashi). Jewellery is made in form of nose pins, hairpins and neckpieces, earrings, anklets, bangles and necklaces were displayed with Ritika Dekate IV-B volunteering.
6. Earthenware: Students collected pots of various shapes and sizes and decorated it. Some students made mini pots, painted them thus making beautiful artifacts out of it. Artisans in Odisha make terra-cotta (burnt clay) earthenware which are famous around the worldwide.
Primary graders decorated diyas as an activity in their classrooms which were included as student’s artwork. Manaswi Patil and Swaroop Jadhav of Grade II volunteered to explain this in the exhibition.7. Handlooms: Bhagalpuri, Sambalpuri, Ikkat, Kosa fabrics are well renowned fabrics of Odisha which are prime attraction. The light-weight fabric is soothing and is much preferred by people in and around the world. Various patterned sarees, veshtis and dupatt as were flared on table. The volunteers were Jaskirat Badan and Heena Choudhary of VIII-C.
8. Sand Art: Sand from the seashore was collected by students and the figure of Goddess Laxmi was made using the sand by them. The sand art was depicted on floor by using blue to depict the sea, and molding sand into the image of the Goddess. The volunteers were Tripura Math and Spruha Kurle from Grade VIII-D
9. Cuisines: Students and their parents actively participated in making various regional varieties of Odisha. Rice and dolma, chenapoda, panipuri, bonda, pitta, gulgula, rosogulla, dal khichdi and kheer were exhibited by the students who, with their parents, enjoyed making these delicacies and letting the attendees have a taste of it. Volunteer the section was MaanyaDatar from Grade V.
10. Lanterns: Students from Grades I and II made paper lanterns in unique ways, and decorated it with colourful mirrors and decorative items. Almost 30 lanterns were displayed at the exhibition adding vibrancy to the showcase. Advaya Dhandwate and Ishaan Dhande from Grade II volunteered to explain about lanterns.
11. Bottle Art: Children from Grade VI to VIII decorated glass transparent bottles with vibrant colours of rangoli to form abstract designs. Students coloured glass bottles with acrylic colour which depicted nature. It was a center of attraction of the exhibition.
12. Posters: Students from all grades made posters of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, nature, cuisines, social life, agriculture, and all other aspects of life in Odisha. Saura art, which is a style of wall mural paintings associated with the Sauratribals of the state of Odisha was drawn on chart paper by the students.
13. Rain water Harvesting: Facing scarcity of water in the summer season has been a great concern for Odisha since ages. To solve this problem, people adopted rainwater harvesting techniques. Rooftop and ground water harvesting is practiced in Odisha. Students prepared a model of rooftop harvesting which was explained by Shveni Karwa Grade V-B.
The programme was meticulously planned to allow students gain exposure to the exotic land of Odisha thus making them aware of all the resources which makes it a very unique place. The various facets of the paired state were disclosed to students who not only enjoyed the exhibition but also learnt about the state and its enriched culture.
The programme ended with the regional song of Odisha by school’s musical team headed by Ms. Sulochana Pawar, Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar and Mr. Kuldeep Ghadage. The chief guest and every spectator thoroughly enjoyed the show from start to finish, and vehemently thanked everyone, student and staff, who was part of and contributed to the success of the event.

A big round of applause to the rangoli team: Ms. Yogita Deshmukh, Ms. Rupali Yadav, Ms. Suchita Phulari and Mr. Kuldeep Ghadage who added magic by designing rangoli that mesmerised everyone who witnessed to the art.
And finally, a standing ovation to all the students who volunteered; all those who performed so passionately; and especially all the parents who so ardently supported the event by contributing all the items displayed, and went to extents to prepare the food items.

In a celebration laced with grandeur, the Center for Educational Development held the CED EduLeaders Annual Conference 2022 at the plush Le Meridian Hotel in New Delhi. The opulent event drew both national and international educational stalwarts including: the former Governor of Chattisgarh, Mr. Sekhar Dutt; the Hon’ble Minster of State, Ministry of Education of Republic of Maldives, Dr. Abdullah Rasheed Ahmed; former Pro-vice Chancellor of IGNOU, Prof. M.M. Pant; former CBSE Director (Academic), Mr. G. Balasubramanian; CBSE Director (Training and Skill Education), Dr. Biswajit Saha; former CBSE Director, Mr. M.V.V Prasada Rao; Secretary of the NCERT, Major Harsh Kumar; and CBSE Joint Secretary (Skill Education), Mr. R.P. Singh.
200 schools across India were laurelled with the CED Star Rating K12 School Award 2021, and we are privileged to be one of those. S.B. Patil Public School thus received the award for Innovative Practices for Academic Excellence. The principal of the school, Dr. Bindu Saini was present at the ceremony to receive this honour first-hand.
S.B. Patil Public School has always strived to uphold an excellence in education, using its past performance as a baseline to surmount and surpass the standards achieved. And thus this moment of pride should be shared with each and every member who is part of S.B. Patil Public school, be it our faculty, staff, students, or the parents and management. Marathi Language Day or Marathi Bhaasha Divas was celebrated on Saturday, February, 26th, 2022 in the school auditorium.
With the children back in school, all the students of Grades VII, VIII and X attended the celebration. The programme commenced with the singing of the Saraswati Vandana, headed by the school’s music teacher, Ms. Sulochana Pawar; with Priyadarshini Patil of X-B accompanying her.
The programme was then inaugurated with a traditional puja ceremony along with the garlanding of the portrait of V.V. Shirvadkar by the principal, Dr. Saini; the vice-principal, Ms. Banda; the primary coordinator, Ms. Kulkarni; and all the sub-coordinators, Ms. Kale and Ms. Sangle.
Ishita Devshetwar of X-B, Arya Gundakali of X-C anchored, introduced the event, and welcomed the staff and students, and familiarising all present what Marathi Language Day is all about.
With the ceremony now in full swing, Triveni Mhaske of X-B gave a speech on Marathi Bhaasha Divas. Choreographed by the dance instructor, Mr. Ajay Chawaria in ode to the occasion, Sneha Chavan, Tanvi Chinchwade, Nandi Pawar, Bhakti Dighe and Saumya Narayan of X-A; Shreya Patil and Subhishashree of X-B; and Samruddhi Borade, Punya Shetty, Niharika Shinde, Divya Mahajan and Netra Gaddadare of X-C, beautifully danced to the Marathi Fusion song.
Following this, a PPT presentation on the life of Lata Mangeshkar, made by art and music teacher, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge was shown in tribute to the late Bharatratna singer.
With the captivating presentation coming to an end, the melodious song, “Ne Majasi Ne” was sung by the music teachers, Ms. Sulochana Pawar, Ms. Maithili, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge, Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar, and the faculty members: Ms. Manjusha Nathe, Ms. Sunita Patil, Ms. Rohini Kanake, Ms. Snehal Kokare, Ms. Yogita Patil, Ms. Sucheta Phulare and Ms. Rupali Patil.
With the choral number concluding, Shaurya Salunke of II-G gave a wonderful speech on Shivaji Maharaj Shourya Gatha; and a powerful powada and Shiv Garjana was presented by Gaurav Mali of VII-A, Darshil Mali of VIII-A, Vedanth Nichit of VIII-D and the sports teacher, Mr. Shrikant Deshpande. This act gave a booming and robust conclusion to the grand ceremony. The programme concluded by Vote of Thanks by primary teacher, Ms. Snehal Kokare

Celebrating Basant Panchami

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, the school, at its campus, held a special celebration on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022.
Special guests for the occasion were our mentor for NABET assessment process, Ms. Sangeeta Gole; and the academic coordinator for the PCET Group, Ms. Janhavi Inamdar. With all COVID-19 safety precautions taken, also present for the ceremony were the school principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda; primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; the sub-coordinators: Ms. Vandana Sangle, Ms. Payal Nihalani and Ms. Nayna Taru; the teachers as well as the students of Grades VI to VIII.
Senior faculty member and Sanskrit teacher, Ms. Deepika Kannao chanted the holy mantras and guided Dr. Saini as she performed the traditional pooja. The ambience resounded with serenity and a deep devotion as we embarked upon welcoming the new season of change in nature… and our livescelebrating the blooming of new colours around us through seeking the blessings of the adored deities.
The choir group, led by Ms. Sulochana Pawar and Prathamesh Inamdar, along with the students, recited, with devotion, the Saraswati Vandana which brought us to the end of this brief yet sacrosanct celebration.

With Reverence to Our Soldiers, Chapter 2:
A Sense of Pride at The Wall of Heroes Inauguration

In an air that abounded and stirred with elation and pride, S.B. Patil Public School witnessed the inauguration of the Wall of Heroes on February 8th, 2022 at its campus.
With preparations for the event running weeks in advance, the celebration commenced with the welcoming of our very special Chief Guest: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Indian Army’s Southern Command Maharashtra and Goa, Major General Inderjeet Singh Sekhon. Accompanying him were Major Krishna Kant, and the managing director of the B.N. Shrivastav Foundation and SketchPaintXprs Collaborator, Mr. Bijay Kumar.
The Guest of Honour for the day was academic coordinator of the PCET, Ms. Janhavi Inamdar. The principal of S.B. Patil Public School, Dr. Bindu Saini; vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda; primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; the staff and faculty members, and all the students of Grades IX and X assembled for the celebration.
The dignitaries were welcomed in grandeur by the school’s band troop led by the sports in-charge, Mr. Dhanaji Patil at the entrance and marched in procession till the school sports ground. The ceremony commenced with devotion and puja followed by the unveiling of the Wall of Heroes by Major General Sekhon and Dr. Saini.
The children’s choir group: Mugdha Bhise of VI-A, Aarna Zanje of VI-B, Pranjal Beloshe of VI-C, Advaita Deshpande of VI-D, Sourish Sindol and Vaiga Thaikoottathil of VI-E. Snehal Patil, Rudra Kharatmol, Aayush Bhise and Sejal Nikam of VI-G, Samrudhhi Nevgire of VII-B, Kumud Gurav of VIII-B and Sucheta Rampure of VIII-E, all led by the music teachers, Ms. Sulochana Pawar and Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar sang a memorable and inspiring patriotic song, “Chalo jawaanon, badho jawaanon”.
The Robotics Department headed by Ms. Varsha Gawali and Ms. Sana Ansari along with the students: Amey Ajgar of IX-B, Dhawala Patil of VIII-A, Atharva Bhise of VIII-B, and Sairaj Kanase of VIII-E, arranged for a formal gesture of welcome for our guests. For this, the students designed a robot that used colour-recognition technology that cruised on black-coloured track and delivered flowers to the guests.
What followed was a mesmerising and a vibrant dance performance lauding the greatness, valour, sacrifice, and inspiration that we, the layman, derive from the service and sacrifice of our bravehearts who fight for our nation’s security on the frontlines. It was presented by our school’s dance instructors Mr. Ajay Chawriya, Ms. Varsha Kulkarni and Ms. Bharati Chhapparwal.
The most interesting segment of the event was when Major General Sekhno engaged in an inspiring and candid interaction with our ever-curious students. A multitude of questions were posed which the Major answered most vehemently and in extreme frankness. In utmost innocence and inquisitiveness, questions covered myriad aspects about military life such as his inspiration to take up defense service as a career, his modus operandi in preparing for venturing into the defense sector, glimpses of his memorable journey as an army officer over a span of three decades, insight into the life, responsibility and dignity of being a soldier, and many more such quizzical queries. Major General Sekhon answered every question liberally stressing that every profession a young citizen takes up is in fact a service to the nation.
With the principal Dr. Saini overseeing the proceedings of the event, we thank every member who helped make this much-awaited celebration a paramount accomplishment that will be remembered for days to come.
We earnestly thank vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda; pre-primary section coordinator Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni, the administrative officer, Mr. Manish Dhekale for seeing to the arrangements of the programme. We also share our gratitude with CCA in-charge, Ms. Swaleha Mujawar who aided in the arrangements whilst also, so passionately, compered the programme.

Celebrating the Nation’s 73rd Republic Day

On the morning of January 26th, 2022, S.B. Patil Public School celebrated the nation’s 73rd Republic Day at its campus. With all the faculty and staff present for ceremony, the programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and singing the national anthem by the principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda; primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; Grade V to VIII sub-coordinator, Ms. Vandana Sangle; Senior KG sub-coordinator, Ms. Payal Nihalani; Junior KG sub-coordindator, Ms. Nayna Taru; the Administrative Officer, Mr. Manish Dhekale; and the HoD of Sports, Mr. Dhanaji Patil.
With CCA in-charge for the primary section, Ms. Swaleha Mujawar compering the programme, the schools’ music faculty, Mr. Sulochna Pawar, Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar and Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge performed the Jhanda Geet with Ms. Pawar singing, and Mr. Inamdar and Mr. Ghadge playing the tabla and harmonium respectively.
Ms. Neeru Malik and the students of the senior section: Amey Ajgar and Abhay Singh of XI-B, Dhawala Patil of VIII-A, and Aditya Thombare and Atharva Bhise of VIII-B then presented a robotics show. The students designed a robot that used colour identification to travel across a track laid out. This performance was the highlight of the show and was cheered on by all present.
Following this, secondary section English teacher, Ms. Praneeta Sharma spoke passionately about how we as teachers can be better citizens for the nation. Again, led by the school’s music group: Ms. Sulochna Pawar and Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar; the faculty members: Ms. Chandrakala Sharma, Ms. Erekar Durga Bhavani, Ms. Jayashri Kamble, Ms. Labheshree Kuwar, Ms. Maithali, Ms. Manjusha Nathe, Ms. Rohini Kanake, Ms. Rupali Nimbalkar, Ms. Rupali Patil, Ms. Swati Newale, and Ms. Vrudhi Phadke sang the patriotic song “Rashtra ki jay, chetna ka gaan vande maathram…”
Secondary section Hindi Language teacher, Ms. Rachana Sisodiya presented a speech in Hindilauding the glory of the largest and most successful democratic identity of the world, none other than our country, India.
As the celebrations came to a close, S.B. Patil Public School alumnus, Prabal Mehrotra gave a speech, in pristine Hindi about what it means to be a citizen of the country, and our duty, as citizens, towards the betterment of the nation. With this, Ms. Mujawar brought the programme to a close with the Vote of Thanks.
We, on behalf of everyone at S.B. Meanwhile, the pre-primary sections celebrated Republic Day on January 25th, 2022via a session to ensure that the fervour of patriotism lives on. Teacher explained the significance of Republic Day and the Constitution of India. They threw light on and explained the National symbols, and the importance of each colour in our national flag.
The little ones of Nursery section engaged in a vegetable-dabbing activity on the blank picture of national flag, whereas the Junior KG kids displayed their love and spirit for their country by dressing up as various national leaders and community helpers. They spoke about the characters they portrayed very well
The Senior KG students helped their parents in preparing and presenting tri-colour dishes which represented Indian culture and tradition whilst speaking a few lines about it. And so, the day brimmed with enthusiasm as the children understood and felt a deep love for our country.
A Salutation to the Sun:
Participating in the 75-Crore Surya namaskar Programme

With the goal to create the ethos of fitness and encourage a healthy lifestyle through the practice of Yogasana, the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopath) launched the 75-crore Surya namaskar Initiative. The 21-day programme was established in line with the tribute to 75 years of India's independence: "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
With a near-30 states participating, the 75-crore Surya namaskar Inititiative is purposed to create the biggest congregational Surya namaskar event. Participants will perform the yoga exercise of Surya Namaskar13 times a day for 21 days, and would, at the end of the duration of 21 days, receive a certificate of completion.In the words of Union Ayush Minister, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal, “The people of the world are coming together today to celebrate the goodness of yoga. It is a message to the world that fitness should be at the heart of one's life and yoga is a form of fitness that elevates one spiritually as well.”
From S.B. Patil Public School, all students of Grades I to X partook in the event amounting to a total of 2,372 participants. The event for the school commenced on January 5th, 2022 and ended on January 25th, 2022.

Celebrating Diversity at the Annual Day

Education is incomplete without a child investing and developing upon his interests, hobbies and passions. The Annual Day Programme is an event that provides a platform wherein students come forward and showcase their talents and interests. We believe that for the overall development of a child, they should be given outlets to exhibit their interests
The virtual Annual Day Programme held this year was as colourful, dramatic and full of surprises as it has been since the past ten years. The theme of this year's Annual Day Programme, Rhythm Divine 10 was “Celebrating Diversity”.
Celebrating diversity is all about understanding that each individual is unique, and that it is important to appreciate and embrace the qualities of every person. Here lies the key to personal and community growth. Almost every moment we are immersed in and face different aspects of the diversity in life be it in beliefs, rituals, values, attitudes, clothes etc.
The students conveyed the message of celebrating diversity through their brilliant performances on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of December 2021. With the 22nd reserved for the pre-primary sections, students of Grades I to V had their annual day on the 23rd; and the VIth to IXth graders had theirs on the 24th. All students showcased varied performances and creativity through dance, singing, performing yoga, exhibiting their culinary skills and beautiful paintings in the show.
The energy and confidence displayed left audiences applauding and praising them wholeheartedly. Parents especially appreciated the skit performance presented by the pre-primary students which highlighted the diversity seen amongst the working class. The skit ended with a noble message: “Every profession has its own significance and value, and there is balance in the society all because of each other's support.”
Children in the colourful traditional fineries, represented different states across India and abroad, doing folk dances,as well as dancing to the tunes of songs from South Africa, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Japan. They gave a tour of the world and different cultures through their performances. Magic shows were also part of the day’s performance.
The backdrop for each performance was all set and artistically decorated by the parents, which enhanced the entire flavour of the programme and added to the success of the day.
We would like to thank our parents for their wholehearted support and cooperation. We would also like to express our deep sense of gratitude to the principal, Dr. Mrs. Bindu Saini; vice principal. Ms. Padmavati Banda; primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; sub-coordinators, Ms. Nirupama Kale, Ms. Vandana Sangle, Ms. Archana Prabhune, Ms. Payal Nihalani, and Ms. Nayna Taru; and all the teachers who helped making the event a success. With Reverence to Our Soldiers, Chapter 1:
Participating in the Sketchpaintxprs for India Programme

Students of S.B. Patil Public School participated in the Sketchpaintxprs for India Programme which was organised by the B.N. Srivastav Foundation, Pune. The programme was instituted as a means to send greetings to our brave soldiers on the frontiers.
At school, the programme was held online as well as offline (for the students of grade VIII, IX and X) on the 8th of October 2021, with children alongside their parents coming in until the 15th of October to submit their home-made cards, handkerchiefs and facemasks.
Three drop-boxes were especially kept in the school foyer at the entrance to ease submissions. These were then packaged and couriered to the army, navy and air force personnel. Over 500 submissions were received which were sent to our brave soldiers in Ladakh and New Delhi.
As a token of appreciation, the school received a trophy and letters of appreciation. So pleased were our armed forces that they made a special request asking our school to send in another donation on the occasion of Indian Navy Day which was held on Friday, November 26th, 2021.
We thank the principal, Dr. Saini; the vice principal, Ms. Banda; primary coordinator, Ms. Kulkarni; the faculty and staff, especially Ms. Erekar Durga Bhavani and Ms. Swaleha Mujawar, and all the faculty members for organising this event. We also profoundly thank the parents and students who all wholehearted devoted their time, effort, emotions and heart to this programme. Hosting the NAS and Police Bharti Examinations

With heads held high, we are pleased to inform you that S.B. Patil Public School was center to holding the National Assessment Survey (NAS) examination as well as the Police Bharti examination with the first being held on November 12th, 2021 and the latter on the 19th of the month.
Lead by the principal, Dr. Bindu Saini, who acted as the Center Superintendent; with the vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda as Deputy Superintendent for the examinations, the faculty at S.B. Patil Public School acted as invigilators for both examinations.
For the Police Bharti Examination, a near-30 police officials were deployed to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly and to overlook the stringent protocols that had to be maintained by both examinees and the invigilators We extend our thanks to every member from the police force who was present in school so as to oversee and monitor the examination. We also thank every member of the school’s faculty who helped invigilate both examinations.
A big thank you goes to the management for supporting us as we held two such prestigious and important examinations.
Celebrating Children’s Day

S.B. Patil Public School had conducted a special celebration to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of Independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru; also celebrated as Children’s Day on the 18th of November 2021.
The principal, Dr. Mrs. Bindu Saini; vice principal, Ms. Padmavati Banda; pre-primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; along with the sub coordinators: Ms. Nirupama Kale, Ms. Vandana Sangle and Ms. Archana Prabhune; the administration officer, Mr. Manish Dehkale; and all the teachers were present for the celebration.
The session began with the garlanding of the photograph of Pandit Nehru by Dr. Saini, Ms. Banda and Ms. Kulkarni, Mr. Dhekale, and all the sub-coordinators and a few faculty members. CCA in-charge, Ms. Durga Erekar Bhavani compeered the event and also proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Faculty members from pre-Primary to Grade X presented breathtaking dance performances that envisaged the themes of childhood, smiles, letting go of negativity, and the culture and traditions of India. Skits based on Virtual vs. Fun in the Physical School caught special attention.
The music teachers: Ms. Sulochana Pawar, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge, Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar and the members of the school’s choir group presented a melodious song on the occasion highlighting the world of bliss and innocence.

Meanwhile the pre-primary section decided to celebrate Children's Day on 17th and 18th of November 2021. The celebration was full of joy and emotions as it was celebrated offline which brought immense elation to the students who were happy to see their friends in person after such a long time.
Teachers arranged fun games for the little kiddies who enjoyed playing the games along with their classmates.
Every adult has a small child inside and whenever it gets a chance, it comes out very enthusiastically. The same was seen with the teachers who performed songs, dances and skits.This created a melodious atmosphere with children overjoyed to see their teachers as different characters.

Everyone at S.B. Patil Public School could not be more elated to declare that with effect from November 1st, 2021. Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni, who has served as the pre-primary section coordinator, and sub-coordinator for Grades I and II since her joining her in 2012 is now the Primary Coordinator for Grades I to V.
Ms. Kulkarni has been overseeing the pre-primary and primary section, ensuring, that the little tots are nurtured right from the very start, receive not only classroom education but are given as much value-adding practical exposure to their curriculum. She also has been instrumental in the NABET accreditation of our school.

S.B. Patil Public School Hosts the Maha-IT:
The Public Health Department Maharashtra Examination 2021

S.B Patil Public School was selected as a center to conduct the Maha-IT: The Public Health Department Maharashtra, Group D Examination 2021 on Sunday, October 31st, 2021. A total of 324 candidates who appeared for the examination.
Mr. Snehit, an official representative of Nyasa Co. was present in the school for documentation purposes. Also present were Dr. Pranali Vetal, the observer for the examination; and other officials for checking and supervision, ensuring the use of oximeter and thermal scanning, etc.
Select teachers and staff were called in to invigilate the examinees. The principal, Dr. Bindu Saini acted as center superintendent for the examination with the coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda, acting as deputy center superintendent.
The candidates who appeared for the examination spared no words to express how overwhelmed they were to not only see the infrastructure of the school but also for the treatment they received from the whole staff and faculty.
We extend our gratitude to every faculty member of our school who helped conducting and supervising the Maha-IT examination. We also thank members of the police force: Mr. R.P. Bangar and Mr. D.P. Ghanwat for their presence to ensure the smooth running of the examination.

Celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Divas

On October 31st, 2021, in accordance to the circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (Circular No.: Acad - 108/2021, dated October 29th, 2021), S.B. Patil Public School celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, the first Union Home Minister of the Central Cabinet of Independent India.
Present for the occasion were there principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda; CCA in-charge, Ms. Swaleha Mujawar, who also led the programme; and teaching and administration faculty.
The celebration was crisp with the faculty members assembling in the corridors and foyers of their respective floors and reciting the Integrity Pledge as part of the oath-taking ceremony.
Standing Up for Truth and Justice:
Vigilance Awareness Pledge Conducted at S.B. Patil Public School

In accordance to the guidelines provided by Central Vigilance Commission and a circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (Circular No.: Acad - 105/2021), dated October 21st, 2021, a Vigilance Awareness pledge-taking ceremony was conducted at S.B. Patil Public School on October 28th, 2021.
Observed throughout the week from October 26th to November 1st, 2021, the pledge was themed on “Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity” and was conducted to encourage the fight against corruption.
The principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; the school coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda, teachers and students of Grade VIII participated in the occasion. CCA in-charge, Ms. Swaleha Mujawar read out the Integrity Pledge (enclosed in Annexure 1 of the circular) which was repeated by everyone present.
The atmosphere resonated with a sense of responsibility as students and teachers took the pledge that called upon every citizen of our nation to stand up against one of the many social evils that is a burgeoningepidemic today: Corruption.
It addressed teachers and students on realising that corruption is a malicious disease which has infiltrated the blood-stream of our society, destroying every ounce of humanity in its path, and thus needs to be treated with utmost precedence. The task to be undertaken is cumbersome but not impossible if all citizens (particularly students) demonstrate a sensitive approach towards the issue, stand up tough and watchful against this massive adversary that is festering and thwarting India from becoming the great and united nation it is capable of being.

Celebrating Reading Inspiration Day

On the occasion of Reading Inspiration Day, on Monday, October 18th, Ms. Anjali Garge, the librarian; and Ms. Kartiki Bhonsale, the assistant librarian organised an event for the Grades VIII, IX and X students. The theme of the event revolved around the idea of understanding the value of books and inculcating the habit of reading.
Our guest speaker was Ms. Anuja Jadhav who is an assistant professor at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE). With a BE in Computer Science and Engineering; an MTech in Computer Science; and13 years of experience in the field of teaching, Ms. Jadhav is pursuing her PhD from Dr. Abdul Kalam University. She has also authored the books “Computer Architecture and Organisation” and “Computer Programming and Problem Solving”.
With strict social distancing and safeguards maintained, the event which was a hybrid one helped both students physically present and well as those online for whom the event was livestreamed on Google.
Ms. Jadav spoke about the value of books, especially emphasising how books are a person’s best friend, and how one can learn so much about the world around them through books. She also stressed on how reading aided and inculcated the process of self-learning and thinking beyond boundaries of what is taught by providing a deep and expansive knowledge on various subjects.
Being a professor of computer science, and with an audience of today’s generation, she gave examples of how to use Google for research purposes so as to expand one’s knowledge. An interactive question-answer round was also held wherein students asked Ms. Jadav questions to which she replied.
The second round was also conducted wherein the teaching faculty were the audience. Interestingly, Ms. Jadav, along with two PCET associates have, in alliance, founded a company, “Trividhya” under which they have developed a relatively affordable phone-like pad for the purposes of online teaching.

RAT and RTPCR Tests Conducted

Ever since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, S.B. Patil Public School has been taking stringent measures to ensure the sanitisation of the school and its premises, and the safety of its faculty and staff from the installation of hand-sanitiser dispensers on every floor to making it mandate that every working member of the school has received both doses of either CoviShield or Covaxin.
So as to welcome students back this month after a year-and-a-half long hiatus, into an environment of guaranteed safety, S.B. Patil Public School in association with the staff from Talera Hospital conducted the RAT and RTPCR tests for every faculty and staff member.
We are thankful to the principal, Dr. Saini; the administrative officer, Mr. Dhekale; and the school management who have made the safety of their staff and students their topmost priority; and to the Talera Hospital for sending their staff to conduct the tests on the school premises.

In a momentous win, S.B. Patil Public School was awarded the Lokmat School Icons of Pune 2021 Award for exhibiting distinction and excellence in the field of academia. The ceremony was held at Hotel JW Marriot, Pune wherein over 30 schools participated.

Surprise, surprise! And it was one for everyone at S.B. Patil Public School as Dr. Bindu Saini was awarded the Best District Principal Award 2020-21 by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) in acknowledgement of her vision, leadership qualities and academic initiative.
Ironically, this surprise was rather expected as Dr. Saini has spent the past 26 years within the field of academia devoting every waking moment to ensure the academic and non-academic development of students, the personal and professional growth of faculty, and advancement of the scholastic institutes she has been part of. She indeed is well-deservant of this laurel.

On September 23rd, 2021, the Lions Club, Akurdi felicitated the school principal, Dr. Bindu Saini for her colossal contribution to the field of education.
Dr. Saini has over 25 years of experience within the field of academia; has been part of every system and cogwheel of school functioning, be it with the domain of administration or through the expanse of academics; and has played a paramount role in helping schools in terms of accreditation and affiliation, creating an illumative atmosphere for both students and teachers; and promoting the holistic development of students.
Prominent members from the Lions Club: Mr. Vikram Mane, his spouse Ms. Mane and their daughter, Shweta Mane; along with Mr. Hiraman Gavai; and Ms. Geeta Sharma, a Bharatanatyam danseuse, were the honoured guests from the Lions Club. They presented Dr. Saini with a trophy as a token of their recognition.
As a gesture of health, safety and wellness, the Club Members also presented the housekeeping staff with face-masks for all, and sanitary pads for the women.

Creating a Greener World:
The British Council Climate Action Video Competition
Pune, Maharashtra | September 16th, 2021
To mark the United Nations climate conference COP26, the British Council, in partnership with Digital Learning Associates (DLA) and IATEFL Global Issues SIG organised a Climate Action School Video Competition for students aged 11 to 18years. Students had to work in groups of three to five. Students also had to seek the advice and support of teachers in their school to produce a three to five-minute video.
The top ten winning videos and their learning videos would be screened during the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow in November 2021.
Within entry dates between September 1st and 20th, 2021, on September 16th, students of S.B. Patil Public School: Dhawala Patil, Darshil Mali, Ishika Wagh and Tanmay Jamkhandikar partook in the competition and interviewed the principal on how the school has aided and contributed to the environment, especially during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview, the students asked questions such as stated under:
1. Being the principal, what would you tell, about what SBPPS as a school, has done to reduce the effect of global warming and climate change?
2. How is our school contributing for improving the environmental conditions in this pandemic?
3. What are the future plans of our school for contribution to reduce the effect of global warming?
Principal, Dr. Saini responded to the questions posed by speaking of the steps the she as the HoS, and the school as an institute has taken to be green school such as its methods of e-waste disposal, usage of solar power though the panels installed, curbing of the wastage of electricity, the plantation of foliage within the campus premises, etc. In lieu of the questions asked, she further went on to describe the future plans of the school in aiding in reducing global warming such as the harnessing of wind power, usage of eco-friendly transportation, etc.
The students toured of the school gardening and compost-making zone whilst making a recording of their school story. The school gardener, Mali Kaka, showed them various medicinal and fruit-bearing plants and trees in the garden which he has been taking care of since many years of his service in the school.
Following this, the students met the school Eco-Club in-charge Ms. Varsha Deshmukh who spoke about the inception of school’s Eco-Club in the school. She also elaborated on its contribution in conducting various activities to raise awareness about saving the environment such as planting trees, making bird-feeders, the reuse and reduction of plastic waste, participating in the cleanliness drive to promote the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, school awareness rallies on combating e-waste, and its management for the British Council collaboration activity with students from Bangladesh.
The school’s sub-coordinator, Ms. Vandana Sangle related information about school activities that raise awareness among students about celebrating various cultural activities and festivals in an eco-friendly way. These activities included eco-friendly Ganesha-making during the Ganapati festivities so as to prevent pollution in rivers and other water bodies; using eco-friendly colours for celebrating Holi; and celebrating a firecracker-less Diwali to reduce air, land and noise pollution to save the environment.
Social Science teacher, Ms. Anjali Gugale spoke about the situation during the pandemic and the various school activities and online projects conducted via online classes along with the school curriculum to raise awareness about climate change and its impact on the environment. Such were: student participation in the Climate Action project, Goals project on the UN SDG’s, and the Rethink Plastic Challenge project with Take Action Global in the years 2020 and 2021.
The students also took a tour of the school terrace along with Mr. Abhijeet Gaikwad, the school’s IT administrator who explained the system of rainwater harvesting and use of solar panels to generate electricity and save water in our school. He showed them graphs of electricity production and consumption during the last few months, and how use of solar panels benefitted in reducing the monthly expense of the school’s electricity consumption.

Giving at the Rashtriya Poshan Maah

In accordance to the CBSE Circular (Circular No. Acad-78/2021 dated September 09th, 2021) schools were advised to undertake different activities to further accelerate various activities under the Poshan Abhiyan and to create a Jan Andolan in the process by adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
As a part of celebration of Poshan Maah, it was felt appropriate that every child may be encouraged to share or offer a nutritious meal with at least one child from the underprivileged sections of the society, living in their neighbourhood. This will not only help the child understand the nutritional levels in the society, but also imbibe a sense of social responsibility, inclusion and volunteerism.
Towards this objective, all students were to be encouraged to share or offer nutritious food with underprivileged children. This would be extremely helpful in engaging children of the country in the celebration of Poshan Maah.

Winning the CED Global Principal and School Awards 2021

On August 28th, the Centre for Educational Development (CED) held a Global Education Summit at Hotel Radisson blu at Gurgaon, NCR to honour and award academics and academic institutions for providing exemplary standards of education and a nonpareil teaching-learning process.
And it was in this ceremony that S.B. Patil Public School principal, Dr. Bindu Saini was awarded the Global Principal Award, 2021 for being “an outstanding school leader who has a national impact in the field of education and has dedicated her professional life to the development of the school and the holistic growth of children.”
As though this was less of jubilation, triumph and prestige, the school was also lavished with the CED Global School Award, 2021. This is indeed news worth trumpeting from mountain-tops.
We congratulate Dr. Saini, a lady who has ne’er failed to surpass herself with each passing day, for such a laudable win. We extend our congratulations to every faculty and staff member at S.B. Patil Public School, be it academic or administrative, for their devotion, persistence and hard work that has helped our school reach such pinnacles.

Remembering a Leader, Mentor and Founder

In profound solemnity, S.B. Patil Schoolcommemorated Founder’s Memorial Day also known as Shankarrao Bajirao Patil Punyatithi at its campus on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021.
Principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; school coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda; pre-primary section coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; administrative officer, Mr. Manish Dhekale, and teachers were present for the occasion.
The principal along with coordinators, AO and all the sub-coordinators performed the traditional puja and paid homage to our revered founder. The school’s music faculty members presented a devotional song lead by Ms. Sulochana Pawar, the music teacher. CCA in-charge, Ms. Swaleha Mujawar delivered a speech on the life and work of Late Shri Shankarrao Bajirao Patil.
This was followed by an audio-visual presentation about the inception and bountiful advancement of the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust which happens to be a great foresighted sapling planted by the Late Shri S.B. Patil way back in 1990.
Ms. Rachana Sisodiya, Head of the Hindi Language Department presented a self-composed poem on the yeoman work done by inspiring personalities that leave behind trails of guidance, and torches for bearing for followers to carry forth.
Our gratitude goes to the principal, Dr. Saini for mentoring the proceedings; the school coordinator, Ms. Banda along with the administrative officer, Mr. Dhekale and CCA in-charge, Ms. Mujawarfor arranging the proceedings of the event.

Tree Plantation Drive and Meditation Session:
A Heartfulness Foundation Event at S.B. Patil Public School

On the auspicious day of Janamashtami on August 30th, 2021, Ms. Pooja Susveerkar a representative and mentor from the Heartfulness Meditation Centre at Nigdi, along with many other senior representatives and abhyasis(which means “one who practices” in Sanskrit) visited S.B. Patil Public School for a tree plantation drive and meditation training session for the staff and teachers.
The principal, Dr. Bindu Saini; school coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda; pre-primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; sub-coordinators, Ms. Vandana Sangle, Ms. Archana Prabhune, Ms. Payal Nihlani, Ms, Nayana Taru; the Administrative Officer, Mr. Manish Dhekale; and the teachers, Ms. Anjali Gugale, Ms. Tripti Brijwase, Ms. Sulochana Pawar, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge and Ms. Erekar Durga Bhavani were present on the occasion.
The event commenced with a live mediation training session with the Heartfulness’s profound spiritual leader and teacher, Mr. Kamleshbhai Patel, also known as Daaji by his devoted followers.
The staff and teachers from pre-primary, and primary and secondary sections attended the very relaxing and insightful session with Daaji and all the abhyasis. The techniques of relaxing the mind to attain and practice meditation was beautifully explained.
After the 45-minute meditation session, Daaji read some excerpts from the letters of the great saint, Chariji Maharajexplaining the importance of the Bhagwat Geeta and Janamashtami.
Following this, the principal along with Heartfulness’s devoted abhyasis, coordinators and sub-coordinators, teachers and staff proceeded to the school garden to plant saplings which were brought especially by the Heartfulness team. This included a variety of trees and herbal plants like amla, dashmul, katesavar, sitaphal, bel, shirish, beheda, wild almond, karanja, and saag.
We thank the Heartfulness Foundation, beloved Daaji and all the abhyasis for a very enriching session on practicing meditation and bringing tree saplings for plantation in the school gardens to mark the beautiful celebration of Krishna Janamashtami.

Celebrating the Nation’s 75th Independence Day

On the morning of August 15th, 2021, S.B. Patil Public School celebrated the country’s 75th Independence Day at its campus. Principal,Dr.Bindu Saini; the school coordinator, Ms. Padmavati Banda; the pre-primary coordinator, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; Ms, Nirupama Kale, Ms, Vandana Sangle, and Ms. Archana Prabhune, the sub-coordinators; the administrative officer, Mr. Manish Dhekale; along with the entire staff was present of the occasion.
Gracing us with their presence were our special guests, Dr. Sanjeevni Shelke, Dean HR, PCET; Mr. Yogesh Bhavsar, Registrar, PCET; Dr. Janhavi Inamdar, Academic Coordinator and Director of the International Relations Cell, PCET.
Dr Saini hoisted the tirangawhilst the school choir group: Ms. Sulochana Pawar, Ms. Maithili, Mr. Kuldeep Ghadge and Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar, as well as everyone present sang the National Anthem and JhandaGeet or Flag Song.
Faculty members, Ms. Erekar Durga Bhavani, Ms. Manjusha Nathe, Ketaki Ganorkar, Ms. Yogita Deshmukh, Ms. Labheshree Kawoor, Ms. Sulochna Pawar, and Ms. Deepali Shinde presented the patriotic song, “Aao Hum Sab Gaye”.
This was followed bysub-coordinator of the pre–primary section Ms. Archana Prabhune presenting a speech highlighting the significance of our nation as an independent country and the need of individual freedom to enhance the magnificence of the virtue of freedom itself. She reminded us of the selfless and relentless efforts put in by our martyrs to obtain freedom, and later by our defence forces to safeguard it in difficult times. Ms. Prabhune further elaborated upon understanding the value of freedom as we call ourselves a free nation. She presented how India as a great country is so very different from other nations put together.
Dance Instructors of our school, Mr. Ajay Chawriya, Ms. Varsha Kulkarni and Ms. Bharti Chhapparwal presented a graceful fusion dance performance on celebrated patriotic Bollywood numbers that took everyone by storm.
Mr. Ghadge, Ms. Sulochna Pawar and Mr. Prathamesh Inamdar performed on stage again to a fusion of patriotic songs: “Ae Vatan, Vatan Mere, Aabad Rahe Tu”, “Mera Mulch Mera Desh, Mera Ye Vantan”; “Dil Diya Hai, Jaan Bhi Denge, Ae Vatan Tere Liye”. The celebrations came to a spectacular end with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Swaleha Mujawar, the CCA In-charge, who also compered the event.
Adding spark to the event was our school alumnus, Prabal Mehrotra who highlighted the ideals taught by the school and elaborated on the contribution of youth in making India a superpower.
We extend our gratitude to Dr. Bindu Saini, Ms. Padmavati Banda, Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni; Mr. Dhanaji Patil, the Sports In-charge; and all the faculty members who cooperated in the successful execution of the day’s celebrations.
Meanwhile, the pre-primary section has their own celebration with the theme being India's 75th Independence Day. It is our responsibility that we do our work in such a manner that it helps in uniting our country and work towards national progress. To instil such values in the young minds the pre-primary section hosted their virtual Independence Day celebrations on Friday, August 2021.
Students were gravely missed as they could not be physically present to celebrate the event but we ensured that the fervour of patriotism and nationalism was kept alive within us and also the same could be ignited in the minds of our tiny tots.
The school soft-boards were decorated artistically by teachers. The entrance and classrooms were decorated with balloons and rangoli respectively.Students and teachers had worn attires in colours of our national flag. Students were given age-appropriate information and shown a video make them understand and appreciate the liberties they had and celebrate the great miracle of freedom.
Activities were conducted to make the day special and memorable for our students. The Nursery section had colouring the national flag activity. The Junior KG kiddies stuck pulses on the National Flag activity, and they were thrilled to show-off their tri-colours they had applied on their cheeks.
Senior KG tots had fun making tricolour pinwheels along with their teachers online. They got a chance to be creative and proudly showed off their handmade crafts to their parents. As part of the CBSE requirement issued in Circular ACAD-60/2021, a National Anthem recital was held on the premises of S.B. Patil Public School on Friday, August 13th, 2021. Maintaining social distancing norms, every faculty member assembled on the school’s sports ground to show reverence as the country’s 75th Independence Day drew nigh.

Celebrating Sanskrit Saptaha

Celebrated annually, Sanskrit Saptaha’s aim is to orient and familiarise students with the treasure of the mother of all languages.
Teachers displayed audio-visual presentations in the morning assemblies in which students from Grades VI to X who has opted for Sanskrit as an elective language presented shlokas, prayers, book reviews of celebrated authors such as SantTulsidas, dance performances, etc.
Our Sanskrit Language teachers, Ms. Deepika Kannao and Ms. Vruddhi Phadke mentored our students for preparing and presenting the audio-visual performances. संस्कृत भाषा म्हणजे गीर्वाणभारती देवीवाक् हे आपण जाणतोच जशी ही भाषा भारताचे प्राचीन वैभव म्हणून ओळखले जाते, त्याचप्रमाणे संस्कृत ग्रंथसंपदा ,महाकाव्ये अनेक मधूर सुभाषिते संस्कृत भाषेचे सौंदर्य खुलवतात सुभाषित या शब्दाचा अर्थ आहे “सु” म्हणजे चांगले “भाषित” म्हणजेच बोललेले जसे सुविचार चांगले विचार।

Living Up to the Mark:
S.B. Patil Public School’s NABET Audit

The National Accreditation Board for Education and Training or NABET is a constituent Board of Quality Council of India which has established a mechanism for the accredited certification of organisations within the educational sector, those in vocational training and other skill certification bodies.
NABET offers accreditation programmes for Quality School Governance in the country. Its aim is to provide a framework to ensure the effective management and delivery of a holistic education programme that aims at overall development of all students.
On August 3rd and 4th, 2021, the NABET conducted a virtual audit of the school. This encompassed the detailed and meticulous analysing of every process within the academic and administrative mainframes of the school’s system.
For this process, every departmental head was thoroughly questioned and cross-questioned regarding infinite and infinitesimal details about their processes. For example, the HR In-charge was required to chronicle all processes that fall under the department; similarly coordinators thoroughly spoke and exhibited evidences that defined their roles, responsibilities, functioning and the processes they were in charge of.
Every faculty member, both academic and administrative, regardless of their post and position, began prepping for this two-day intense event months before. Whilst the results of the audit are still awaited, we as a school are confident that all of us performed far beyond our own expectations.

Making Every Drop Count:
Hosting a Blood Donation Camp

The Lokmat Newspaper organised a blood donation camp at S.B. Patil Public School. The event was organised in association and with the aid of the Pimpri Medical Relief and Research Foundation’s Pimpri Serological Institute Blood Center.
Eight faculty members partook in the camp, with every donor receiving a certificate of merit and gratitude.
We thank the Lokmat Newspaper for organising such an important event, the Pimpri Serological Institute Blood Center’s team for conducting the event at our school, and our revered trustees and board members of the PCET and everyone at S.B. Patil Public School for granting us permission and to be part of such a meaningful and life-giving event.
Prevention is Better than Cure:
First Aid Training and Mock Fire Drill Held at Campus

We at S.B. Patil Public School do not take emergencies lightly, be it health or situation-wise. We make certain to periodically train our faculty in various procedures and drills so as to keep them abreast of things when it comes to tackling an exigency.
On July 23rd, 2021, a First Aid Training workshop was held for all the newly recruited faculty in order to prep and prime them in dealing with situations that would need their instantaneous demand and presence of mind.
Stringently maintaining every social distancing norm and regulation, the workshop was conducted by the HoD of Sports, Mr. Dhanaji Patil; and the School Nurse, Ms. Sujata Bhalerao.
Dealing with wound and fracture treatment, handling snake-bites, dressing and bandaging procedures, CPR and choking aid techniques and requirements for a first aid box. Special stress was also given to precautionary measures to be taken regarding health and hygiene during COVID times with emphasis on the importance of vaccination.
On July 24th a mock fire drill was conducted that involved every faculty and staff personnel at the school. The drill was strictly timed and evacuation methods and measures were stringently followed in order to prep the faculty in handling a real-life situation of this sort.
Further to this, the water hydrants installed were also tested within the school’s premises so as to ensure their efficacy should an unexpected emergency arise.
Raising the Bar:
S.B. Patil Public School Receives Accreditation for Grades XI and XII

The Year 2021: A year when S.B. Patil School has been recipient of numerous accolades, awards and accreditations.
Commencing with the British Council IDS certification on New Year’s Day, what followed suit was getting awarded by the Education Today with the Best Holistic Development in India Award; Times Education bestowing the Best Innovative Learning and Green Campus awards; and finally receiving the Pune Times Mirror School Survey Award for the Best Innovative School in the PCMC region. As though this was less of such glory, the prestigious Rotary International consented to recognise S.B. Patil Public School as part of the Interact Program of Rotary International w.e.f. March 1st, 2021.
Without restricting ourselves to only the institutional honours, even the faculty have excelled in their work and have been decorated with a multitude of accolades. Dr. Neeru Malik, the Innovative Lab in-charge; Dr. Bindu Saini, the principal; Ms. Padmavati Banda, the school coordinator; Ms. Shubhangi Kulkarni, the pre-primary coordinator; and Ms. Anjali Gugale have had papers published and been recipients to numerous awards the articles of which can be found published on the school’s website.
In most recent news, S.B. Patil Public School, which commenced as an institute for with classes ranging from Nursery to Grade IV, progressed to having classes up to grade VII by 2014, and finallybeing a secondary school with classes ranging up to Grade X by the terminus of 2016, has now received affiliation for being a senior secondary school.
We congratulate the principal, Dr. Bindu Saini, the coordinators, Ms. Banda and Ms. Kulkarni; all the sub-coordinators, teaching and non-teaching faculty for this win, whilst wholesome and wholeheartedly thanking them for every effort they have made to ensure this triumph sees the light of day.

Asian Education Awards felicitates the Educators and the Educational organisations for their contribution to the education community. Dr. Saini has been principal of S.B. Patil for a near-two years and during this time has aided the institute to achieve numerous awards including the NABET Certification in 2019 and the prestigious British Council IDS Award in 2019/ 20.
Rightfully deserving of such a meritorious award for all her persistent hard work to make our school reach paramount heights, we heartily congratulate her for her win.
