Winning the ABSS and ALCO Awards

We are proud to announce that Arush Nischal of VIII-F, a young keyboard player and enthusiast, won the first prize in the ABSS competition and the silver medal at the ALCO Music Competition in the International Thai Gala. The event was held in Pattaya, Thailand from the 18th to the 22nd of August, 2024. Here is his testimony of the road he took to win these spectacular awards.
“Everyone in this world has different passions. For me, it’s music. But it wasn’t always my passion - it’s as if music chose me.
In 2021, just after the lockdown ended, I joined SAZ Music Classes, mainly because my parents wanted me to learn something new. Initially, I wasn’t eager to learn the keyboard, but in May 2021, I began my lessons. To my surprise, I quickly became captivated by playing the keys.
My first opportunity to perform came in May 2022, when I participated in a national competition organized by ALCO, where I earned third place. I also took part in another national competition organized by ABSS that same year. Additionally, I had the incredible experience of performing internationally in Dubai, UAE, where I received a bronze medal.
In 2023, I once again competed in the ALCO national competition, where I secured third place. Although I was disappointed with the result, thinking that it was my 2nd year, I didn’t let it discourage me. I persevered.
In 2024, I participated once more in the ABSS and ALCO competitions. This time, I finally achieved a significant milestone — I won first prize in the ABSS competition. This victory led to my selection to perform in Thailand, at an event organized by ALCO, where I proudly earned a second-place medal.
All these competitions were highly challenging, with participants from all over the nation. Despite the difficulties, my passion for music and determination kept me moving forward.”
We heartily congratulate Aarush on these wins as he plays the notes to success in his passion for music.
