After a good breakfast the children then moved to see the Puppet & Magic show. After which they got their hand tattooed by a tattoo artist, then the jumping jacks, toy train ride, Merry Go Rounds and so on went on the fun till they got tired and took a break for some munching and chit chat with friends and teachers and some selfie time. But the fun didn't end here, there was free play garden time, now with all energy draining out slowly, it was time to restore the energy with a yummy lunch laid out for them with their favourite foods Pav Bhaji, Fried Rice, Fryums and Gulab Jamuns. All the tummy full kiddos rested for some time. As it was time to leave the venue, they were given ice creams which they relished. The Last Day of School:
A Pre-primary Section Memoir

Pune, Maharashtra | March 2023

With grey winters turning to bright summers,
With cloudy skies turning to sunshine all around,
Another year has come to an end.

With another annual year coming to an end, those tiny feet, which once hesitantly walked into their new classes a year ago, will soon march out a step higher. Those hands which scribbled crayons randomly have learnt good formations. The entire year was a carnival with echoes of laughters, cheers, teamwork and much more to the list.

As a token of love, all the teachers prepared handmade take-away mementoes for the little ones to cheer them up as they embarked on a new journey. It was a bittersweet moment for both teachers as well as students as some were excited on this new venture, yet teary-eyed as they left their classrooms and class teachers. Teachers received tight hugs from the toddlers with promises made that they will come to meet their teachers in the coming years too. Goodbyes were hard yet had the sweetness of dreams to be chased.

Celebrating Opposites that Complement:
The Pre-primary Black and White Day

Pune, Maharashtra | January 31st, 2023

S.B Patil Public School’s pre-primary section celebrated Black and White Day on January 31st, 2023. Black is most commonly associated with power, authority and strength. On the other hand, white is directly linked to that which is righteous, good and peaceful. They both are opposites which complement each other.

Our kindergartners were welcomed on this day with decorations themed in black and white on soft boards of the classrooms displaying a multitude of black and white objects such as pandas, chess boards, and footballs; along with charts displaying the concept of day and night whilst highlighting it with the caption "Don't compare your child to others there is no comparison between the sun and moon, they shine when it's their time.”

The young learners were dressed in black and white attire. They were asked to name objects they saw around them which exist in black and white, after which the teacher discussed objects displayed on the soft boards, and explained the concept of day and night. To add variety, they were also shown shadow acts with students and teachers making different shadows of birds, animals, etc.

The pre-primary section had arranged different activities for students to develop their gross and fine motor skills: Nursery students had paper tearing and pasting on a zebra activity; the Junior KG students made paper envelopes and thanksgiving cards for our community helpers, and gifted it to them with a sweet gesture of thank you and a smile on their face; whilst the Senior KG students made a cute penguins using palm printing. Grandparents Day Celebration

"A grandparent has silver in their hair and gold in their heart."

Grandparents are family who give unconditional love and kindness; have immense patience and understanding, shower us with comfort, and teach us lessons in life. Even when parents may scold a child, it is the grandparents whose blind love for their grandkids shields them from their parents.

Just like a parent plays an important role in a child's life, grandparents do too. Assume a child is a boat: if parents are the propellers and rudder that push and channel the child in the right path; grandparents then are the sails that gently guide the child as well.

And so, to acknowledge the role of grandparents in our lives, S.B.Patil Public School's pre-primary section gave a platform to them on 8th October, 2022 through the event: Grandparents' Day. The grandparents of our students were invited. They played fun-filled games like Guess the Actors, Book Balancing, Catch the Ball, Tying Knots, etc. and even went to the Selfie Corner and Tattoo Corner to get clicked and have tattoos made on them.

Grandparents shook their legs on stage with their grandchildren as music rocked the auditorium. One could, without a doubt, see the happiness on the faces of the dada-dadis and nana-nanis.

"Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal ki!!!"

Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna- one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the day of Krishna Paksha Ashtami of Shravan Masa. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope - that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end.

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at S.B.Patil Public School on 18th August, 2022 with great pomp and show. It is our responsibility to keep up with this day's religious importance and pass on the significance of the celebration and our traditional values to modern India. The premise was beautifully decorated with different scenes of the epic story of the birth of Bal Gopal and also of the human pyramid made by kanha and his group of naughty friends to reach the pot of Makhan hung high. With this depiction students gained the knowledge of strength in unity. The spirit of festivity was enhanced when children came all dressed up in traditional attire, complete with flutes, peacock feathers and pots looking just divine. Teachers played a video of the story of Lord Krishna, further celebration was truly entertaining and informative where students enjoyed a round of Ras Leela. Children enjoyed doing activities which helped them to develop their fine motor skills & creativity. Nursery students had paper tearing and collage activity for decoration of dahi handi. Jr. KG students had different group activities such as decorating earthen pots and a cradle. Sr. KG students too enjoyed doing their group activity like paper collage, pasting sequence & shimmering of pot & picture of Bal Krishna.

The purpose of the celebration was to inculcate the value & traditions of our culture to students.

A Special Bond of Love

The bonding between a brother and sister is very unique. The care they have for each other has no boundaries. Siblings carry a special place in our hearts.

No matter how much they fight with one another but they always stand behind them in support. Their relationship is full of teasing, caring and love. To share this love between their classmates, the Pre primary Section celebrated "Raksha Bandhan" on 9th August 2022. Our creative minds added stars to the celebration with handmade Rakhis & Gifts. In a group activity Nursery kids made a Big Rakhi by 'Sticking Earbuds & Sequence'. Little artists of Jr. KG created beautiful Rakhis and gifts by pasting different shapes and materials. And here our Sr. KG Nature friends showed their responsibility towards nature by making "Eco Friendly Rakhi". They used sunflower seeds, wheat and rice in Rakhi which children tied to the plants. Later on the seeds will germinate and new plants will grow. It was a wonderful experience for students & teachers too.

Yoga for Humanity

We Indians can be all proud, as Yoga which originated in India is now celebrated & practiced all over the world as International Yoga Day. Yes..! It is a gift given to the world by India. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice. The word Yoga means "union" in the ancient Sanskrit language. Followers seek this union through posture, breathing & meditation. The theme of this year's Yoga Day Celebration was 'Yoga For Humanity' and Crores of people around the world had actively participated in it for the better health and wellness of all.

To inculcate the good habits & benefits of Yoga in our budding buds, the Pre-primary section had arranged a Yoga session on Tuesday, 21st June 2022 on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Yoga helps the growing children to improve flexibility, balance, and strength. Yoga can reduce challenging behaviors by providing a physical outlet for children to express themselves. Children enjoyed the yoga sessions under the step by step guidance & supervision of their teachers. They were explained the benefits of yoga in simple words and then slowly they were made to the meditation, breathing and stretching. Children were taught the lesson- 'Body is a temple, keep it clean & safe with yoga.'

Happy International Yoga Day...!

Academic Year 2022-23 begins with a Big Bang!!!

After a long gap of two years, the school came lively when our tiny tots once again entered the school campus. The moment they stepped-in we could see excitement, anxiety, happiness and with all these mixed emotions our new journey of A. Y. 2022-23 began. Tiny tots were welcomed by teachers. The boards & classrooms were decorated with cartoon characters & balloons. Activity teacher had arranged a musical session along with a puppet show which children enjoyed a lot. The month passed by soon with children engaged in fun filled activities like clay modelling, fingerprinting, colouring, with eduneed toys, paper crumpling & paper tearing. Children were also taken for outdoor activities where they enjoyed cycling, slides, swings, and seesaws.

The academic year began with a blast & we are looking forward to our little champs coming back rejuvenated after the vacation to continue the journey with the same enthusiasm & energy.
