Molding Magic with Clay:
The Nursery Clayton Activity

Pune, Maharashtra | 7th November, 2025

As part of our commitment to fostering global awareness, we are pleased to introduce the RIDS (Recognition of International Dimension in Schools) — a British Council initiative that promotes global perspectives through project-based learning. The theme for the activity, “Waves of Care: Protecting Creatures Across India, Australia, and the Philippines” (based on SDG 14 – Life Below Water), aimed to help children explore and care for marine life while developing curiosity, respect, and responsibility towards life below water.

In line with this theme, teachers have been engaging students in various hands-on in-house activities and educational videos aligned with the theme, providing them with interactive opportunities to explore and learn.

Children have an innate love for squashing, shaping, and creating with clay. To nurture this natural curiosity and enhance their artistic skills, a Clay Modelling Activity was conducted for the Nursery section on 7th November, 2025. The little ones enthusiastically rolled, pressed, and moulded colourful clay into delightful water animals such as starfish, jellyfish, octopi, and turtles.

The hands-on activity not only encouraged creativity and imagination but also helped in developing fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and an understanding of colours, textures, and forms. The children proudly displayed their creations and eagerly shared their ideas with friends and teachers.

It was a joyful learning experience that blended fun, imagination, and expression — leaving the Nursery classroom filled with smiles and vibrant little masterpieces.

The Chinmaya Mission Bhagavad Geeta Chanting Competition

Pune, Maharashtra | 25th August, 2025

Sanskrit, one of the world’s oldest and most scientific languages, is often referred to as the “mother of all languages” since many modern Indian and foreign tongues trace their roots back to it. The language of our ancient scriptures—the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, and Mahabharata—Sanskrit holds timeless wisdom on life, values, science, and philosophy.

In order to instil the significance of this ancient cultural heritage among today’s technology-driven youth, an Inter-School Geeta Chanting Competition was organised by Chinmaya Mission at our school on Monday, 25th August, 2025, for students from the Pre-primary section to the higher classes.

The Chinmaya Mission Bhagavad Geeta Chanting Competition was a spiritual endeavour aimed at spreading the teachings and relevance of the Bhagavad Geeta amongst participants and the larger community. The event encouraged students not only to appreciate the scripture’s philosophical depth but also to apply its teachings in their everyday lives.

Participants were required to recite selected verses from the Geeta with precision in pronunciation and intonation. They were evaluated on parameters such as clarity of expression, vocal presentation (Lay–Taal), pronunciation, memory, and overall impact.

The competition proved to be an enlightening and inspiring experience, fostering spiritual awareness and cultural pride among students. It served as a platform for young learners to strengthen their connection with India’s ancient wisdom while gaining a deeper appreciation of the Bhagavad Geeta’s eternal teachings.
