S.B. Patil Public School proudly hosted the 8th National Bocce Championship 2025-26 from 1st to 3rd May, 2026, bringing together athletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts from across the country. The prestigious national event was hosted by the Maharashtra Unit under the aegis of the Bocce Association India.

The three-day championship witnessed participation from more than nine states, reflecting the growing popularity and reach of Bocce as a competitive sport in India. Players across various age groups and categories showcased high levels of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The event was marked by passionate participants, well-organised teams, competitive matches, and enthusiastic crowd support. It also served as an important platform for identifying and nurturing talent for future international opportunities, further strengthening India's presence in the global Bocce community.

The host state, Maharashtra, delivered an outstanding performance, securing the highest number of medals among all participating states. Their dominance highlighted the strong development programs and grassroots initiatives being undertaken in the state to promote Bocce.

Officials from the organising committee expressed satisfaction with the smooth execution of the championship and the increasing participation from across India. The success of this edition has set a strong benchmark for future events.

Looking ahead, the organisers have announced plans for the 9th National Bocce Championships, which are tentatively scheduled to be held in Pune towards the end of August 2026. With momentum building, the upcoming edition is expected to witness even greater participation and competition.

A Captain Rises: Shreya Taras Leads Maharashtra to the National Arena

S.B. Patil Public School takes immense pride in announcing that Shreya Taras of Grade VIII has been selected as the Vice-captain of the Under-17 Girls’ Cricket Team. She will be representing us at the National Level Games — in the Cricket National Tournament U-17 Girls’ Group. They will be playing three matches in Rohtak, Haryana from 28th April to 3rd May, 2026.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to her dedication, discipline, and exceptional sporting talent. The school extends its heartfelt congratulations to Shreya and wishes her the very best as she leads her team on the national stage, bringing laurels to the state and inspiring her peers.

Coming Second at the JSPM ISSF

S.B. Patil Public School proudly celebrates the commendable achievement of its girls’ kho-kho team, who secured the second position at the JSPM Cup Inter-School Sports Fest, held from 15th to 17th April, 2026 at JSPM’s Blossom Public School & Junior College, Narhe, Pune.

Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, discipline, and resilience, the team delivered an impressive performance throughout the competition. Their journey to the podium was marked by determination, strategic play, and an unwavering sporting spirit, reflecting both their rigorous training and commitment to excellence.

The achievement stands as a testament to the students’ dedication as well as the consistent guidance and encouragement provided by their coaches and mentors. Three Games, One Spirit:
A Sporting Journey at G.D. Birla Memorial

Pune, Maharashtra | 7th to 9th April, 2026

The G.D. Birla Memorial Competition 2026–27 was conducted from 7th April to 9th April, 2026 at B.K. Birla Center for Education School, Shirgaon. The school participated in the Under-17 Boys category, competing in Football, Volleyball, and Cricket.

Football

The football team began their campaign on a commanding note, registering a resounding 7–0 victory in the opening round. They advanced to the quarterfinals, where they encountered strong opposition and were defeated 3–1. Anish Raut stood out as the tournament’s highest goal scorer for the team, netting an impressive 5 goals.

Volleyball

Displaying resilience and team spirit, the volleyball team secured a convincing 2–0 win in the first round, followed by a closely contested 2–1 victory in the pre-quarterfinals. Their journey concluded in the quarterfinals, where they put up a commendable fight but were narrowly defeated 2–1.

Cricket

The cricket team progressed to the quarterfinals after receiving a walkover in the opening round. In a tightly fought match, they were defeated by a margin of 2 wickets. Lavish Chaudhary delivered an exceptional performance, achieving a remarkable hat-trick during the match.
